The church of George Washington is smaller than I expected, but no less impressive. There is no way to capture the feeling of connection with our country's past but to simply stand in awe of everything this location embodies.

Fabulous setting to begin your married life! 37 years (+2 days) after the groom's parents wed there, their youngest son and his beautiful bride took their vows in front of their families packed into the historic church. Every detail was perfect, the minister was especially...More

It's always amazing when something still exist after so many years. Very well maintained. The huge organ is only a couple of year old, so don't expect to something historic with that.

So I'm used to old UK churches with some going back to 1100 etc. This was beautifully simple by comparison. It's kind of strange sitting in George Washingtons pew ! And knowing a lot of the Declaration of Independence signatories worshipped and are buried here....More

This is a must see. Generally, this is in many ways just an old church but when you walk-in, pay attention to the marble slabs inside the church. These are actual graves of church members. Ask one of the docents to tell the story of...More

After walking over, I was disappointed to learn that we couldn't go inside without paying $5 per person. It was not a huge church and wouldn't have taken long to view. There was no guided tour that I was aware of...just 5 bucks to go...More

It doesn't take too long to see this gem but it's well worth the $5 admission. Just don't be surprised when you don't find Franklin's grave, it's in the church's graveyard, not on site like several others that you'll see both inside & outside of...More

This is a very simple church but rich in history. The church is open to the public to view, pray and join in worship. It's cool to think you can sit in the church our founding fathers attended 240+ years ago.

I don't have an exact address, but as you can see in previous posts, Google is your best friend! As for touring it on your own, yes! I don't recall if they even have formal tours, but there was a caretaker (or a very nice... More
