My husband wanted to visit the memorial, and I’m so happy we did. The mausoleum is beautiful. Blake, the park ranger, gave a 15-minute talk in General Grant, and he was wonderful. It was a great surprise! The area outside is in a bit of...More

This memorial really demonstrates the significance that General Grant had on the Union victory during the Civil War. This structure is a huge memorial with multiple stories and an impressive green space out front. The building looks as if it was airlifted straight from Washington...More

Despite having visited NYC a few times, we had never visited Grant’s Tomb. It is located on the Upper West Side near the Hudson River and although is large, it is almost tucked away. When we visited it was very, very quiet. In fact, we...More

This is free to visit and will likely only take 15-20 minutes even if you read everything. The tomb is huge and has 4 beautiful pictures at the top (inside). Surprisingly, it is very quiet.

We visited Grant's final resting place on May of 2019. It's a little hike after getting off the subway. Anyway, it is very impressive, inside and out. There are battle flags from Grant inside and paintings of his victories as well. You can see Grant's...More
