I've visited this museum twice now and taken two different tours. They have several tours and I'd go again on a different tour every time I get to NYC. The tours last about 1.5 hours and the guides are very good. You can see the...More

This museum is wonderful. Taking a tour of this Lower East Side tenement and seeing how people lived there in the 19th and early 20th centuries is fascinating and moving. We added a walking tour of the neighbourhood which is equally good. And the gift...More

Did the Irish Outsiders tour, which was fascinating both in the story and the actual tenement itself and the artifacts on display. A mention for Sarah our guide who did an excellent job.

The tour took an hour and was an interesting insight into the buildings history. The ‘Educator ‘ (tour guide). Was well informed and seemed invested.

We did the Hard Times and Under One Roof tour, which we booked online the day before so we didn’t miss out. While both tours were good we preferred the Under One Roof tour as it looked at immigrant like in the 1950-1980’s so was...More

This museum is a thoughtful, informative, and fascinating look at the experiences of thousands of immigrants who came to the US from the mid-nineteenth to mid-twentieth centuries. The tours (there are six) acquaint modern-day visitors with the lives, challenges, and aspirations of our ancestors as...More

We visited this wonderful "museum" many years ago and are pleased with the improvements that have been made. I put museum in quote because it is not a bunch of dissociated objects in cases, it is actual tenement apartments that have bee n faithfully restored....More

Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and
smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like
entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle
that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families
stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up
at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from
the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many
bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where

They have lockers down near the restrooms, but I'm not sure if they're large enough to accommodate a full suitcase. You might want to call them and ask.
