Up close and personal at the zoo! Going on a Tuesday in October was the perfect time to go. We walked up to every exhibit and had front row views of all animals. So amazing! Great date trip. No kids 🤪. It has been a...More
Easily one of the best zoos I have visited.
A wide variety of animals as well as incredible scenery.
I was there from 9.30am to 4pm and still didn't see it all.
The bus tour is a good place to start as it gives you...More
Buy your tickets on-line to avoid the crowd at the zoo. Once you are inside, be prepared to walk many miles but you'll enjoy every step. Bring water, sunscreen, and a hat because everything is outside. Many animals to see and learn about. We spent...More
My husband and I visited this Zoo. It was his first visit. There were opportunities to live and learn throughout the Zoo. Be prepared for extensive walking. We were grateful for our opportunity to visit the beautiful Zoo

If you’re not a zoo-lover or if you’ve had your fill of zoos, don’t prioritize this on your San Diego trip. It was nice, a lot of exhibits and very well thought out design. But there’s not much exquite here. The pandas are gone :-(....More

The koalas tour is only at 8:30 am - you enter the park early. For the penguins, giraffes or elephants, I imagine later is fine. When we were at the elephants as part of the private experience, no elephants were in the keeper department so afternoon is probably different for them. Whichever behind-the-scenes tour you take, you have extra experiences added on. Wonderful opportunity. We did not take the bus tour later because we had been shown the lay of the entire park in our wonderful tour.
