My husband and I decided to take in the Golden Gate Bridge from Baker Beach, and it ended up being our favorite view of the whole trip. The view of the bridge is amazing! You can see it from top to bottom in clear weather,...More

This never crowded beach is a little known delight. The views of the Golden Gate give you a whole new prospective. The view at sea level looking up at it from the seaward side as the ships sailing into the bay do. Check out the...More

We really enjoyed seeing the sun set from here, You get a really good view of the bridge and the city. It does get cold in the evening so make sure you bring clothes to wrap up in. It's also a nudist beach I didn't...More

Pristine (from what I saw) beach with a great view of the Golden Gate bridge! Not too crowded at all when I was there in the evening. Would have loved to go and gotten in the water there but didn't have time.

No need to drive far to experience the beach when visiting the city. This sheltered beach is relatively clean and attractive, though there is some nudity if that offends you. Get here early for parking. Lovely area of the Presidio.

I really recommend visiting Bake Beach for sunset. Beautiful light on the GG Bridge, plus getting to watch the sun disappear on the horizon. Really fab spot, one of the highlights of our stay in SF.

Gets busy with lots of tourists and dogs and fishing poles but There weren’t too many people on the north side of the beach. Sunbathing as others cleaned the beach and walked by enjoying the beach. Awesome.

The Muni Bus line 29 takes you most directly to Baker Beach, the bus line terminates there. The line runs from early mornings to right around midnight, 7 days a week.

There is parking on the cliffs above which I would imagine you could park for the day but no to sleep over night.

We visited during the US Government shut-down of 2018. The Presidio was open. According to the US National Park Service website for the Presidio, it is open 24/7 and there are no entrance fees.
