We were in San Fran for 8 days in August. We ate twice there and loved it. We also walked thru it many days. The food was excellent and everyone was friendly. We will go here on our next visit!

Nearly everything here is Italian. restaurants, delis and grocers. Washington square is the middle of this section. North beach is more famous for Italian restaurants.

As a person of Italian extraction, it never ceases to amaze me how widespread is the Italian diaspora. Everywhere I've been, with the exception of Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong, there's a Little Italy. In Australia, it's hard to find anywhere untouched by Italians, even...More

Not always that you find the best Italian restaurants in the neighborhood that bears its name. The neighborhood feels a little more tidy than its neighbor, however, Little Italy has the feel of a pastiche. Several cafes and restaurants.

We stopped here for shopping lunch and dinner loved it great atmosphere a few establishments closed down which is such a shame . The deli we went into was the best . We really enjoyed it cleaner than the Chinatown area

I had expected a very vibrant scene where there were shops and restaurants selling anything related to Italy but it was just a few quiet streets with some cafes opened around noon. It did not have the Italian feel.

Love Little Italy, Great restaurants and bars and a fun walk around. So much history. After a wonderful lunch you can tour North Beach then head down Grant to China Town.

This area of SF is where you come to eat great food. There are a ton of Italian eateries in the area and one for everyone. They vary in price and style with some focusing on pasta and others on pizza. It was great to...More

I was talking about the neighborhood of little Italy, so it doesn't really have an "opening " time. I'm sure there are many restaurants that serve breakfast therefore probably fairly early.
