I passed Haight-Ashbury on the Big Bus San Francisco Hop-on Hop-off Tour and knew I had to come back here. Haight Street is vibrant and lined with all sorts of colourful shops where you can spend a good couple of hours browsing. Its iconic, hippie...More

I loved this place, it's like Byron Bay on steroids. It's an old hippy town and still has that carefree feel. Good bars, good used clothing shops, good tattoo parlor. Yes lots of homeless and dogs but that's part of the fun.

Visited Haight-Ashbury about 15 years ago and felt then that it had completely lost its hippie vibe and had transcended into a tourist trap - visited recently and that appears to have changed. Better shops with great coffee shops and restaurants the head shops and...More

This area is from where the hippys first met and made their movement. In this days only the nice victorian buldings are mentionable.

A visit to Haight Ashbury is really worthwhile. The place buzzes with the counter culture synonymous with San Fransisco and it is very probably one of the best 'people watching' places that I have been. Incredible vintage shopping, some good bars and 'restaurants' but also...More

Loved Haight Ashbury area. Steeped in music history. Great shots and lovely eating places. Note so sure it would always be a safe but was definitely good fun in a warm summers day. Even the mushroom dealers were very plesent

Trendy, nostalgic, funky and the birth place of the counter culture and psychedelic movement in the 60"s. Now more mainstream with bars and restaurants.

Some years ago I visited H-A and was disappointed, the place seemed very flat. We went back and the area was busy, bars with live music and an eclectic mix of shops. I was pleased to see a sense of regeneration and the atmosphere was...More

Ok, so the summer of love was short lived and soured fairly quickly, and even given it's own funeral by those who initiated it.. but the spirit lives on. I was just a nipper in '67 but I remember it and all that which grew...More

It is just part of San Francisco. Lots of cute shops, secondhand shops, vintage shops and restaurants. Still has some reflections of days gone by. It is a good place to spend a couple of hours walking the streets check in the shops eating some...More

The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and
Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of
the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage
clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops.
While the Summer of Love ended decades ago,
Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of
hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through
its streets can still feel like stepping back in time.

From SFO search shuttle services to the city. It's a shared taxi/van. Easy & convenient from the airport. If you're driving , use waze or maps. Otherwise take Uber or Lyft so easy, quick & efficient to anywhere in san Fran
