Koloa is a neat old Hawaiian town with some shops, restaurants and stores. On one side of town is the Big Save supermarket, a great place to shop locally for groceries, since we cooked breakfast each morning at our. resort.

We spent a couple of hours here after our zipline tour and found the shops charming. We had lunch at Pizzetta and enjoyed dining on the back patio. The lunch option of a slice of pizza and side salad were perfect the affordable.

Good food and coffee, a market, and the shopping is (honestly) just as good - if not better - than the more popular places on the island.

This is the site of the first successful sugar plantation on Kauai. There are a few historic displays among the shops and restaurants - a great way to spend the afternoon walking around. Parking was fairly easy.

It is the Christian Riso Fine Art and it is open for business. I know the owners and it is NOT closing. They do some of the best framing I have ever seen!!
