This is the site of the oldest church on the island. Quaint church with interesting graveyards. Worth a visit if you’re in the area. Great views from the back of the cemetery.

Stopped here on an island tour, the guide said that the gift shop was well worth a visit, unfortunately when we got there it was closed. However the church itself was interesting both interior and exterior, the graveyard could keep you reading the gravestones all...More

Drove here on our own to visit cemetery looking for graves of ancestors from 1800’s. Didn’t find the exact relatives but it was still an interesting visit. Try to imagine building such a beautiful structure in early 1800’s in the middle of nowhere.

If you enjoy history, you'll enjoy this church. I am not that religious but can appreciate a building several centuries old with (I can only imagine) incredible history. In addition, I enjoy walking through cemeteries. Some of the grave stones are exceptionally old and a...More

This is a very old church. The one unusual thing was the organ. Some of its pipes are horizontal; besides the usual vertical ones. Otherwise, just a church.

St. Johns Parish Church, erected in 1836, has a locally carved pulpit inside and outside there is a lovely view of the East Coast. Don't forget to wander around the churchyard and read the tombstones. Outside there are several craft stalls.

St. John's church is an historic site that offers a peek at the past and is an impressive piece of architecture. The mahogany pews and structure are well preserved. If you wander the grounds you will see the burial area where many historic figures were...More

The church itself is very beautiful but its also about the extraordinary views from its gardens. Take time to see the interior but then head into the back gardens were you have panoramic views of the island. The frangipani trees in the cemetery add to...More

The views of the East coast from St John's church are marvellous, but the history represented by the church and graveyard reward the visitor who lingers for a few minutes.

There isn't a cost associated with visiting the church. You can freely walk around the grounds and even enter the church. But it would be nice to leave a donation which would go towards the upkeep of the church :)
