Interesting story about the Atocha Spanish Ship wreck in 1622 off the Florida Keys. Mel Fisher and fellow friends and investors found somewhere in the range of several million dollars in gold, silver, and jewelry. The museum documents the history and discovery.

Expensive donation to get in. Kinda funny, I suppose that it would cost so much to show hundred and hundred of millions of dollars of coins/jewels/etc. Regardless, it's very interesting to see. Lots of information and well down displays.

I went to the museum finally to see the history and the artifacts. There were a number of cool artifacts but overall, I was not all that impressed.

The museum is self-guided so that you can enjoy the exhibits at your own pace. You may choose an optional conservation lab tour on weekdays that runs from 25 minutes and up, based on questions and answers from participants.
