Beach is fine for swimming. Nice tree shaded area for picnicking. Outdoor showers to rinse salt and sand off. Cute little beach concession. The actual fort is a must see. Step back in time. See how the soldiers lived, worked defended. The fort is huge...More

We will definitely spend a day here on our next trip. The cafe at the beach is convenient for tourists and you can rent loungers and a beach umbrella for convenience.

There is a fee for vehicles and yes many people had dogs. Don’t forget beach shoes if you’re planning on getting in the water

I apologize I had not seen this. You can walk into the actual fort area and go up on the battlements.
