I visited the walk of fame a couple days ago in October 2019. It was Terrible!. Everywhere I looked there were the homeless , the mentally ill, drug addicts and beggars. There was even a guy high on drugs rolling around on the floor ....More
If movie stars are a major interest of yours, than definitely go there. Expect huge crowds though ( mainly tourists) and lots of traffic. The best parking is at the Hollywood mall where the Oscars are taking place. The best spot to go to is...More
If youre planning to come to LA this is a place you must visit. Go early as there are often free show tickets being passed out, performers all over the place and lots do do and see. There is an awesome inexpensive souvenier shop nearby...More
I was HYPED- the walk of fame- it’s world famous, it’s going to be epic- it’s bitterly disappointing. Stars on the floor- a fat bloke dressed as Darth Vader and plenty of pests trying to sell their “cool” music...
the district is cool, shops and...More
The Walk of Fame is one of those things you need to check off the list when visiting LA, but it is definitely not representative of LA. Swing by quickly but don’t linger. It’s a tourist trap to the extreme. Probably best to see it...More
Home of the pavement of stars. Over 2500 of them. I didnt realise until I visited that stars are awarded in several categories, acting, signing, screenwriting, directing etc so some people have several. Spotted loads of my favourite actors and it stretches for quite a...More
If your going to LA/ Hollywood you have to see the walk of fame! Spend part of the day tracking down your fav starts and getting your photo with them, because that’s what you do....but it is a bit underwhelming, not what I pictured at...More
Lots of homeless people and quite a strong smell of urine everywhere. I think if you go don’t bother walking the full length as that’s a waste of time. Just head straight to main 20meters and get your pictures. Ultimately you’re looking as someone’s name...More
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night
partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.

My husband and I did it on our own however about every 20 feet we where harassed by seemingly unlicensed vendors to go on a tour.. If not tour vendors people pushing cd’s or in cheap costumes conjoling a picture then demanding money. Some of the vendors where downright hostile. None of it seems legitimate and I wouldn’t recommend any of them! The “walk” is pretty easy, we weren’t looking for any stars in particular but if one was wanting that a map for that purpose it would be sufficient. The only place to visit and get a tour in my opinion would be the Chinese theatre.. Sadly most of the area/walk is in disrepair, dirty and blighted.. In St.Louis where I’m from we have our own version with celebrities that where born, raised, or lived in our city.. The delmar loop isn’t near as famous but is much more of a pleasant experience than Hollywood.. We visited several other places in the LA area that where much better.. Santa Monica is wonderful, Beverly Hills just to gawk at the beautiful homes, The Petersen automotive museum (even if you’re not a car geek) and the beaches are just amazing.. That’s just scratching the surface! Hope that helps :)
