Everything you could want (and more) in a beach/park but get there early or you'll have to park a long way from the beach. We go there several times a year with a group and love the great park area.

Really big beach. Devided the areas in to swimmers and surfers so they don't clash. We were there on a very gentle day so it was easy on seniors and little kids to play in the surf. Bathrooms and changing areas provided. Big free parking...More

Great atmosphere and walking paths. The beach and vista is lovely although the sand is not white? The toilets are quite outdated and were in huge demand. We were dropped off and collected by friends so didn’t have to deal with the congestion in the...More

The beach is large and beautiful. My sons rented surfboards quite easily nearby. The waves were good for learning. I wish I had booked our VRBO nearby, I think they would have gone surfing everyday.

The beach is nice, full of people on a sunny day. Parking spots are rare to find during peak hours, Lots of noise, so this may not be a beach for relaxing unless you choose to use earphones/ music . There is a lot of...More

There are a few fire pits, but you'll need to arrive early in order to grab one. Remember, alcohol and any glass is strictly forbidden on any of the beaches in San Diego.
