A true and real historic and ancient place, but reconstructed in a way that you will shake your head. If it would have been done today archeologists would do it pretty differently. But anyhow it is a place to visit and the view on the...More

Interesting place in Tilcara. Easy walk, cheap entrance fee. We spent one hour as this was the 2nd time we visited. It’s a mandatory attraction if you are in Tilcara!.

Lovely cactus gardens to wander through on your way to the reconstructed ruins. So worth the visit when in Tilcara. Great sites, great views and only 300peso per person. So worth the visit.

This is one of the places where ancient cultures of the Montes Andinos remain. It is an espectacular place, surrounded by a dessert of impressive cactus and most importantly, a place to meet with a part of History.

Good place to visit even if has been very restructured by the early archeologist. In any case you can take an idea of the original emplacement and enjoy the views from the hill.

This ancient fort overlooks the entire canyon. The early houses were reconstructed by the early archaeologists without regard for authenticity. But, forgetting the mistakes of those early scientists, it is a very interesting and well presented attraction, well worth the visit. Take the time to...More

This is being marketed as pre-Incan ruins but all it is a reconstruction. The insulting part is that they reconstructed the place without regard to what it was or would have been in the Incan times. They did not use the right materials, they had...More

This a pre-Incan site that sits on a sloping hill that drops off into a stream. It was a fortress as well as a city. Early archeologists reconstructed some buildings in various parts of the site but they didn't follow historical building methods and so...More
