We went on the 1 hour cruise around Portage lake. Great views of icebergs and mountains. The glacier kindly calved just as we got up to it. I highly recommend.

The mv Ptarmigan is the only boat on the lake but they do a great job of getting you up close to the Glacier. Great commentary on what you are seeing.

We joined a tour which included a cruise to Portage Glacier . On board , the boat, Mary was very clear in her explanation of Glaciers. We had pictures and many posters to help us understand the area . Extremely happy !

I got to see about 14 glaciers on oneAlaskan Railroad ride. They offer different rides so can read on line to see which one would work best for you.
