- KRISHNA PATELJanjgir-Cham District, India22 contributionsNice placeA botanical garden or botanic garden[nb 1] is a garden with a documented collection of living plants for the purpose of scientific research, conservation, display, and education.[1] Typically plants are labelled with their botanical names. It may contain specialist plant collections such as cacti and other succulent plants, herb gardens, plants from particular parts of the world, and so on; there may be greenhouses, shadehouses, again with special collections such as tropical plants, alpine plants, or other exotic plants. Most are at least partly open to the public, and may offer guided tours, educational displays, art exhibitions, book rooms, open-air theatrical and musical performances, and other entertainment.Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 24 May 2023
- Sweagle97Macon, Georgia320 contributionsWell worn park, but worth the tripPrices have risen a bit from what is posted on the website. So much so that the sign at the Street entrance doesn’t have the ticket price posted anymore (you can see the blanks where it used to be). Overall the park was worth the time and money to visit. Now 73BRL for adults and only in cash (no cards accepted).Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 June 2023
- SRD1994Swansea, United Kingdom260 contributionsLovely afternoon, not loads of wildlifeWe had a lovely time visiting here. It was a hot day so nice to cool off under the shelter of the trees. We visited in August so maybe the wildlife/flowers weren't around because of that. It was still beautiful and easy to enjoy a few hours here. It was BRL$73 per person, you need to pay in cash only. They give you a paper map so you can find your way around, this was useful but did not match up with the signposts (I think these were the ones that were wrong not the map). There was a cafe but not very big so I suggest bringing your own picnic.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 September 2023

There are many plants, of all sizes and from all habitats, I prefer those carnivorous (insectivorous) ones. You must be there to see yourselves how beautiful they are. - JudithBristol, United Kingdom22 contributionsBeautiful Jardim BotânicoI really enjoyed my time in the Jardim Botânico, as a solo traveler I can say I felt comfortable, staff is welcoming and accommodating, everyone is working so hard to keep this place as beautiful as it is. Please take your time to take in all the flora and fauna, it is a delight, another traveler recommended it, and I am glad I took the morning to explore it. The staff in the cafeteria is very friendly as well. I was so happy to see the monkeys, and the meliponario, where they have the bees. I recommend this place on a sunny day.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 29 January 2024

Save your time and save your money. I am not sure what is there to make so much hype about this garden because we have been to much better gardens before. Except for line of palm trees that’s good for photo taking, You go to Orchidery (it’s a greenhouse ) and you don’t see a single Orchid. You go to Bromeliad greenhouse and nothing is there. Water Lily lake has the buds because the flowers blossom after sunset and close back at sunrise. The entrance fee they charge is too much. R$75 for non-Brazilians and they only accept Brazilian currency in cash. Even street vendors selling water bottles accept USA credit card but thus the ark does not. Tour guides are not botanists, they are just drivers taking you there and walking you they the park which you can do it yourself if you do decide to go. If you don’t go, you are not missing anything.

The reviews looked good. We walked all the way from the centre of the city as the bus ticket system bemused us. Most of the park is closed off for refurbishment. What is left is a stroll amongst a few statues and the odd plant of note. It's free but a waste of our time. However on the way along using Avenue Santa Fe we found the Library/Book store that from the outside looks like a grand hotel or a theatre, which it once was. Quite amazing.

denisvalerio
Foz do Iguacu, PR357 contributions

Bom passeio !
