The park is just in the outskirts of downtown Austin. The botanical garden and the zoo are nearby as well as the Burton Spring and the municipal pool. Take a pack lunch with you and enjoy the day there.

I was here many many years ago... it was beautiful then. It’s still kept pretty clean but the views are not what they used to be. No one has trimmed trees or weeds or vines in years and you can’t see the beautiful river between...More

We enjoyed rambling around this urban park. We enjoyed the film and water conservation activities at the Barton Springs Pool which was not open when we were there. The best part was the Botanical Gardens. We learned so much there.

Nice place to take a dog off leash or people watch. Lots of people playing pick up or organized soccer games, and a nice sand volleyball area. Parking can sometimes be a challenge. Great location near downtown, and easily accessible from Mopac.

Absolutely a beautiful relaxing place for kayaking. The views are spectacular and the water is refreshing. It was 100 degrees but the breeze and cool water kept us cool. We will definitely take advantage of Zilker Park on our next visit!

It's 7 miles from the Hill of Life (at the end) to Zilker park where the Barton Creek Greenbelt trail begins. It's 4 hours for an average hiker
