This island was a project that failed. Monkeys that were stolen and sold in the black market were recovered 30 years ago and reintroduced in this island as a first step back into the jungle. 4 species were introduced but only 2 survived. These are...More

Unforgetable memory here. There are a lot of monkeys and all of them are so cute. Really sad I didn't have any photo with them.

We were brought here as part of our tour with Monte Amazonico, and it was the only uninteresting part of our stay in the jungle. If the monkeys would have came down to take the fruit we brought for them it would have been neat....More

We were taken here as part of a rather disappointing 'Kyak', Zipline, etc tour. I really disliked the whole Monkey Island thing. It is totally not okay to feed wild life. God knows how many groups go each day; I saw at least 4; the...More

The monkeys were stolen from the jungle and dumped on the island to become a tourist attraction years ago. The monkeys are now desperate for food as it's limited on the island so now they're trapped there relying on tourists to feed them which is...More

We heard many people staying at our lodge that they had been to monkey island a few times and were unable to see anything other than mosquitos. When I went with Carlos Expeditions, we were very lucky to enter a clearing where there were up...More
