Nice little park and plaza lined with palm trees. There a more locals and vendors for locals here than the central plaza. Nice photo spot. On a clear day you may see the volcano erupting from the distance.
Always nice to walk by en route to ruins and attractions in this part of town, good views of the Fuego volcano, which is still regularly active (as of June 2019).
Frequently walked through this park in my 2 weeks in Antigua, It's close to the middle of the city and was useful as a landmark in my wanderings. It's a fascinating little park used for communal clothes washing (less so in more recent times). Be cautious though late at night,…
Worth seeing to see where the local women had to do their laundry in old times. It is no longer in use but if you want to see one that is still actively employed you should get on a bus from the market and go to San Pedro las Huertas. A half hour ride.
I only visited very briefly around lunch time and again mid-morning the next day. On both occasions nobody was using the wash basins. Nevertheless a nice park (even better if you get a view of one of more of the volcanoes)
