Nice architecture. Just help yourself to the top, and you will see the lovely view! A place which just near to the Souq. Proximate 10-15min walk.

One of the best thing in Muscat, this fort can offer an amazing view over the city and its promenade. The view is breathtaking and the fort is very well conserved. I went there in the morning but I returned tgere during sunset! wonderful!

Not far from Al Alam Royal Palace you can see this attractive fort. It has been built during the Portuguese occupation. Nice position in the hills.

It is a beautiful ex-libris from P[Portuguese colonial times and makes for some remarkable photographic moments. But, because it is a functioning military installation, you cannot actually visit it.

The walls of the fort stretch out over one whole section of the mountsins backing up the port city of Muscat. Very interesting to ponder and you can walk/climb up to it. Unfortunately it is presently closed to the public.

Discovering the Mirani fort while walking around Old Muscat perched high above on the rocks. Beautifully maintained, if only the walls could talk. This is a must see part of the old city.

Again, I'm not a huge historian but this was a interesting place to visit. It was cheap to visit and surrounded by an interesting town and souq. Avoid the lunch time just because even in December it was so hot. There are a lot of...More

The fort is nice to see from outside, as it was not allowed to enter during my visit. Worth to stop by if you were near by.
