After over 40 years we returned to one of our favorite hidden gems to discover many huge tourist buses and flag-led groups. So we avoided the crowds in the quaint alleyways and the beautiful Norte Dame de Sion Convent. It was simply enchanting again.

Shops. Restaurants. Churches. Beautiful stroll through this sweet village. Stop and look around. John the Baptist was born here.

Ein Karem is a village outside of jerusalem. It was a stop on our tour. Our guide mentioned the area has beautiful hiking trails and restaurants. This is also where artists come to relax and paint. We went to the visitation church, where Mary visited...More

We went to the Ein Kerem area on a recommendation and were pretty disappointed. Maybe it was overhyped to us, but found it to be not worth the trip. Mala Bistro was ok. Everything else strictly forgettable.

It is a peaceful town. The ascent to the visitation Church is a bit steep, but very pleasant, overlooking the green valley - a contrast with the mostly dry landscape. On the way down stop at the ice cream stores or cafes for a refreshment.
