I loved this museum, especially seeing the Portraits of all of the Presidents. Michelle Obama's portrait is displayed here, as well. And it is a treat to see. A great way to experience the history of American Art.

I guarantee you will find several artworks to love here. My favorite was Experience America, a collection of Depression-era works showing the lives of ordinary Americans. Electronic Superhighway is a huge 51-channel video installation exploring America's mid-century culture, travel and more. There's folk art, photography,...More

There is too much to comment on in terms of the individual works, so will stick to my thoughts on how fortunate Americans are that this treasure is accessible as it is (like all of the other Smithsonian museums).

Saw a lot interesting and informative displays. Couldn't have found a better way of passing a few hours and getting educated at the same time. Make sure you see Dorthy' s Ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz movie.

The Presidential portraits are wonderful but there is so much more to see. Exhibitions are always changing and bringing new art to enjoy. The building architecture is wonderful, too. Have a drink or coffee in the courtyard!

Happily found the Cleopatra statue by Edmonia Lewis as told about in the recent book by John Rice. It's beautiful, and has an interesting history! This museum has a wonderful collection.

The museum has 3 floors. We started from top floor to bottom. The exhibit of American actors and famous athletes was really good. My favourite was the exhibits and photos of the American presidents. The photo of Michelle Obama was very popular.

Since we've been here so often, it usually takes about 1 hour. First timers should allot at least 2-3 hours.
