My wife and I visited the monument at night which we both agreed was a great idea. Cooler weather and less crowds made it much more enjoyable. Only downside was the elevator to the top is not open at night.

It’s a walk to get to but it’s very pretty. DC is a lot of walking with hard parking we only found one parking deck and the side roads to park on were full. It’s a good trip if you have a lot of patience...More

We attempted to go up the monument but all the tickets were taken for the whole day. You have to arrive very early in the morning to secure a ticket. We did walk around the base and enjoy the views from there!
The area is massive. It does have a little museum about the monument and grounds. Recommend to check website for hours. Make sure to where your walking shoes because the park that it is attached to is a beautiful walk but also within walking distance...More

We used the monument as a point of reference as we toured, on foot, the capital city. I'll say one thing, get in shape if you want to see everything. We averaged 13+ miles/day, walking, including the day we went to Arlington.

This is one to go and see, which is situated on the National Mall, you can see this from far away and it’s good start to get your bearings, we did all the memorials on this side one day, we didn’t get to go inside...More

Hi, There is absolutely no need for you to buy any tickets online. Just go there, savour the monument and its nearby surroundings. If you still want to do to explore more, then take a call and stand in the line to purchase tickets for going into the museum, otherwise to to visit Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial etc, there is no tickets to be purchased.
