I have been to the Vietnam Memorial once before, and when visiting again, it is an emotional visit. Seeing the individual names, and the thousands of them makes me think of their sacrifice and the loss to their families and communities. And sad that politics...More

The Vietnam Memorial is a beautiful reminder of the ones who continued to give us freedom. I like that you can take a pencil and sheet of paper and find the name of your loved one and etch it onto the paper. What a gift!

A fitting tribute, along with the 3 soldiers statue, to those who gave their lives. Tremendous sadness over a war that should not have been!

It was very moving, and humbling, to see the Vietnam Veterans memorial. The magnitude of men and women making the ultimate sacrifice for us all was overwhelming, and something I will never forget.

Loved everything about this Memorial. Kudos to the girl that had the balls to come up with the architecture. It's a great place for family and loved ones to share in remembrance.

Take your time and reflect on that era. There are people there to talk to you about the Memorial, just be courteous and quiet if you can, families of the deceased visit also and take etchings from the wall.

I had always imagined the black walls to be bigger. Vietnam war and soldiers deserve a larger memorial !

Mementos and photos of the service members on the memorial wall are still being left - obviously a very painful period of time.

I always wanted to visit here. The thing that hits u is the size and amount of names of veterans, so many. But it's a lovely tribute to those that died

If you are just looking at this one memorial it will not take more than 20-30 minutes. However the memorials are all very close and in walking distance.

I think the Vietnam memorial is between the Foggy Bottom (GWU) and Smithsonian metro stops.
