Open from 8am, this popular attraction is worth all the hype!! Changing facilities not great, bathroom floors were soaked. The walk to the sinkhole was only 5 mins before reaching the entrance. The steep stairs lead down to the sinkhole, which looks just as impressive...More

A must visit! Absolutely beautiful and a relatively short stop on your way to Wadi Shab. Bring a bathing suit. There are shaded areas to enjoy a picnic but otherwise no food available apart from a filtered water dispenser by the bathrooms. Best reached by...More

Yet another contribution to overall beautiful scenery of the Omani coast. Located just between the Qaryati and Sur, ideal stopover rejuvenates on the way to (Sharqiya) green turtle region. Walk down the long steps and swimming is excellent experience.

The two stories behind the sinkhole and the area around is great. You can have a swimm in the sinkhole also there are some steps down to the water. Nice place to visit.

Go early before the crowds - really nice place to swim - take a taxi from Muscat - no need to pay astronomical prices via tour companies

We followed the google map & came to a deserted dry place. Upon seeing few cars & buses parked, we were convinced that indeed this is not a fake place. There is no entry fee & there is ample parking space. We just have to...More

Awesome spot to stop for a swim! Parking is easy, and it’s open 8a-8p even on Fridays. Take some shoes/sandals, and a picnic. The little fish that live in the sinkhole will nip at your skin, so be prepared for a pedicure if you decide...More

Thrilled to witness this beauty on earth. Bimmah Sinkhole is a naturally structured sinkhole between the mountains surrounded by the ocean in Oman. Locals believe that this hole was created by the falling star. Hence, the park which is the entrance to this spot is...More

I visited the sinkhole on my way from Sur to Muscat, via Wadi Shab. We had already spent most of the afternoon in the wadi, so it made sense to drive another hour and jump in the sinkhole (we were already wet and had towels)....More

The Bimmah Sinkhole was created when a cavern collapsed due to dissolution of the underlying limestone. It is one of those sights that seems to be featured in any tourist brochure and advertisement, but when you actually visit it can't help to be underwhelmed. It...More

I’m not sure. It is a city park, so I would assume standard hours — 8 or 9 am.

I would wear a t-shirt at the sinkhole and then swim in swimwear. At the wadi, either is fine, just make sure you are comfortable and take reef shoes if you can as the rocks are harsh on your feet.
