Perhaps the smallest Mexico's Human Heritage City but one of the best preserved. It is worth to spend a few days there

Cute old town area. Easy to walk. It actually was far less touristy and busy than I expected such a colorful photogenic place to be. We were the only native English speaking tourists that we encountered.

I didn't venture out of the historic area very much but this is a classic colonial city that has been very well preserved. The people know they have a true gem and are determined to keep it that way. It isn't as touristy as a...More

Campeche was designated World Heritage status by UNESCO in 1999 based on "Interchange of values and "Significance in human history". Campeche's well preserved buildings and fortifications are a typical example of a new world Spanish colonial harbour town. The almost 1000 historically significant buildings are...More

The historic centre of Campeche is very cute and very colorful. It is not as developed as Merida but it has a lot of charm.
