The Hotel de Ville (City Hall) square is an area of green in the commercial area of the old town. It is a space that you tend to walk by hardly noticing the building.

Set on the 18th century Notre Dame market, this is still a great gathering place. The Romanesque architecture elevates the area which is surrounded by beautiful buildings and shops. A great Christmas market was happening here during my visit which made it lively and colorful.

We wondered around the City Hall and enjoyed the architectural design as well as the atmosphere all around. The building is really pretty, and you can feel the history all around.

Since its redesign a few years ago, the Place de l’Hotel de Ville (City Hall Square) has become a great public space to visit in the old city. There are water jets to cool you off in summertime, and in the colder months they put...More
