Just got the sun, a bit wet at the start with some puddles but no ice and no mud really. Upper falls are really nice. Did it in runners

Absolutely delighted that we did this hike and it’s right up there amongst our favourites this trip. Well made paths and handrails where necessary. The views, landscape, falls and general scenery were exceptional and so photogenic. We went the day after thanksgiving, and there was...More

We walked to the lower falls, which was an easy hike overall with well maintained trail. We were there in mid-September, so there were still lots of tourists, and the parking overflowed onto the road in both directions. While the falls are nice (but not...More

Parked at the bottom and off we went on this fab wee hike, not sooner had we started and the rain came and made for an adventure. Never the less we walked to both falls and were in awe of the views and sound of...More

This was a beautiful hike to the falls. It is fairly easy if you are going to the lower falls with lots of photo opportunities along the way. Once you are there, enjoy the bridge that overlooks the rushing water. Our guide mentioned that in...More

There are 2 parts to these falls, the upper and lower. We did the lower. walk takes about a half hour. It's a paved trail with fencing bolted to the cliff. The parking lot at the restaurant is a pay parking, go down the road...More

Great hike. Minimal effort for a great reward. We did both upper and lower and if you can only do lower it is still great. Very busy, go early.

Pretty views on the way up. Pretty accessible (we had a double buggy that we only had to lift over a couple of obstacles, it was well paved) though there were quite a few bits where we couldn’t pass anyone on the path with it,...More

Hmmm, I was not overwhelmed by Johnston Canyon. Most comments are really good, so I though it would be better. No offence, it is beautifull, but if your time is limited, I would prefer other things in this area. Also loads of people on this...More

Johnston Canyon is a pretty hike along a series of teal-colored waterfalls on a trail that is sometimes attached to the canyon wall. Sounds scary but it isn’t. But fair warning: it’s long (2 hours round trip for us), at a fairly high altitude, and...More

You most certainly do. Johnston Canyon is part of the Banff National Park. Rangers are very strict about park passes, be sure to stop and get one. Worth every penny!
