The area is very good! The food is super yummy and cheap. I went around 5 pm, but would recommend going a bit later. I took a taxi from my hotel, about 30 mins ride. Worth it!

Great authentic and local food. We went on a Friday night and there was music and people were dancing. It’s a great getaway from the hotel zone to get some real Mexican food.

The (free) park is really more like a large public square with a big stage for occasional performances. During the day, there’s not much to see or do, but some of the food stalls are open during lunch time. At night, food carts (especially dessert)...More

We had a cloudy/slightly rainy day, so we decided to venture to downtown Cancun after it being recommended to us by multiple locals. We parked right by the El parque, but realized we were way too early to enjoy all it had to offer. So...More

The park is quite plain during the day, but at bight it hosts a local market, with stands of food and souvenirs, cars and carousels and inflatable castles for children, and on the main stage local musicians and dancers perform. The crowd is mostly local...More

Really nice market at the evening with a lot of food and crafts. Perfect for kids as well with a lot of activities for them to do.

Loved this place. The food was all excellent. But then there was all the fun stuff, like the kiddy cars, the shopping. And Mexican Street food you won’t find at chipotle! Hahahaha!

While you’re in Cancùn, you should absolutely go and visit Las Palapas. This is a place where locals outnumber tourists by far. Food is great, and a lot of activities like live concerts are held there. For people that do not want to try street...More

So much food choice it was painful to decide. Food vendors are polite and not in your face at all. Very clean and chilled. Lots of local kids riding around toy cars (very well behaved) Family atmosphere but surprisingly no bratty children. Loads of market...More

Las Palapas park is a little area with an actual playground! It was very busy when I was there, but my 3 year old daughter had a great time. There are lots of “locales” to buy real Mexican food, at good prices, and little covered...More

I traveled by myself and was fine. The worst thing that ever happened to me was getting hit on, while riding the bus. But I felt perfectly fine. The people of Cancun are wonderful.

I'd suggest walking to the ADO bus terminal from Palapas and getting a cab to the restaurant. From Palapas to the bus terminal, head north on Margaritas as its only a few minutes away.
