Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Taxco was definitely worth the visit. Enjoyed every minute of this beautiful place. A must visit town. The reason for a bad rating: Excellence Mexico Tours booked through Trip Advisor was positively hopeless. We booked an English tour but the guide’s knowledge of the language was so poor that the tour was given in Spanish! The driver got into a serious confrontation was a passerby and lashed out in a barrage of foul language. On the funny side, our guide slept most of the way to Taxco and snored all the way back to Mexico City. My advice, research the company before booking. I don’t feel Trip Advisor should align with companies that negatively effect their reputation. This is the first time I have given a bad report in all my travels, but I felt it incumbent on me to do so.

I am pleased to have the chance to visit and enter this church. Beautifully completed. History says that it took only a few years to build this church. When in Taxco, make it a point to visit this lovely church.

The Santa Prisca is a historical monument in the town of Taxco. This beautiful church is amazing both inside and out with some stunning views from the bell tower. The church was being renovated at the time I visited but I did get the opportunity to climb the 130 steps to the bell tower to take in the amazing views. If in Taxco, definitely worth a visit.

I'm always amaze on the level of intricacy the churches in Latino America. We couldnt walk a round the inside of the church, we just made it to the entrance. Go and visit beautiful architecture. The only thing that might be annoying is the supposed tourist guides that are pushy but some of the free info they're willing to share as u walk towards the entrance of the church. The one thing i wish would be access to the bell tower as a guided tour that would really cool

This is the kind of cathedral I want to see in Mexico. Ornate and intricate while still holy. Get a local guide to give you a tour.

A really beautiful cathedral and very historic with gold panels. Lamentably the earthquake in 2017 damaged the main three panel which are now under reconstruction. It was donated by a French resident in the XVIII century and maintain the same construction. Dedicated to Saint Prisca and Saint Sebastian.

This church has a lot of history, the local guides will tel it to you, the art work is very impressive. The gold laminate finish was being worked on while we were there and they were making a great job bringing out the splendor of the art work. Also you have everything close by, wether you want to eat or buy souvenirs, you’re sure to find them at the zocalo.

Our tour guide who said he is indigenous to the Taxco area gave us a history lesson on the amount of lives lost in working to build this beautiful church. He said is was more like forced labor by the rich and powerful whose aim was to Christianize the natives in the area and for the rich to steal the natural resource (silver) that Taxco was famous for. He said today all the silver of Taxco has been mined and the jewelers import silver from Zacatecas to continue an age old Taxco traditional of jewelry making. Although we loved the Baroque style of the church we were happy to meet Andres who gave us a lost page of history lesson on Taxco and its precious church.

While baroque and beautiful on the outside, especially when lit up at night, Santa Prisca is actually a small-town church that has been faithfully serving local parishioners for generations, from birth to death. Step inside and sit down and pay your respects, regardless of faith.

En cuanto al costo de entrada, no lo hay, pero puedes dejar una cooperación u ofrenda, siempre es bienvenido por las iglesias y sus párrocos para su mantenimiento y sus necesidades.
