My wife and one other couple visited Clifton during a cruise stop. We went by taxi for a 30-minute ride, and then were greeted by a wonderful park manager. She helped us arrange for a return taxi and chatted with us for awhile. Then we...More
We absolutely loved our visit to this park. The history tour was amazing and very interesting. They made us lunch and we got to eat on a private beach that was so beautiful. We went swimming and they had a option to snorkel. All the...More
We had a private tour with Vernita and we truly enjoyed it. She was so knowledgable and gave us a history lesson of the Bahamian people. We were able to see some of the homes they lived in. We also received lunch from the park...More
Beautiful and well-organized park. Surprisingly not crowded at all! Snorkelling/diving in Nari Nari is a must. It's the region with world-famous underwater statues, including the biggest underwater statue in the world - Atlas. Interestingly, a model for the statue was a local schoolgirl.
We vastly underestimated the length of the bus ride from our resort (Riu) to the park, but the driver Joseph was knowledgeable about the island and shared a lot of great local insider info on the way there so even though it was long it...More
Witness where many Caribbean ancestor slave lived,. You walk through their homes, see where the congregated and see how they longed to go back home to Africa.
I was so moved to tears! But a very humbling, educational and fulfilling tour!!
At the end of our excursion we travelled to this beautiful and serene national park where we were able to spend some time on this secluded beach. Water was beautiful and only our small group was there, it was nice to feel like the entire...More
We were greeted by friendly staffers and directed to the water after paying. Helpful people at the water, all super nice. It was fun to see the statues and the beautiful clear water, but the reef is mostly dead. Very sad. The staff and the...More
We traveled to Clifton Heritage as a family of 15, ages 8-74. We were picked up right outside the cruise port and were pleasantly surprised to get an informal tour of Nassau from our driver on the way to the park. The drive lasted about...More

Unfortunately, our snorkel beach is a No Mooring", "No Anchor" and "No Docking" zone. However, please feel free to do so at Johnston or Jaws Beach free of charge. When were you planning on visiting?

Ok the first snorkeling was about 1 hour.....you walk and swim out to the underwater sculptures and reefs ( this is the same site the snorkel tour comes to via boat for a shorter time... when we came in from this we took a short van ride to site #2 where we had the delicious picnic lunch and time to jump in the water again.......to swim unless you had your own snorkel equipment.....we all wanted more time here.... I should have spent less time talking at the table! we went by van back to the heritage site of the plantation for about an hour tour by foot.....and then they drove us back to town.....the difficulty is this area is at the "rich" end of the island where public busses do not run frequently if at all...... you might be able to convince the driver to drop you off for extra money, but you have no way of knowing...or finding one...to bring you back to town.....these are gated, high security all around.....Johnny Depp etc don't take buses! Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and take the tour offered and this was one of them......they were all so delightful and friendly...... just don't sit too long eating...jump into the gorgeous beach......
