        Such a fun tour!
We really enjoyed this 2 day, 1 night tour. We did the standard range tour. We had lot of fun with our amazing guide Oscar. He was so knowledgeable and really did everything for us including setting up many nice meals and taking great photos! We stayed overnight in the Salt Hostal (a little different from some of the pictures on here) but it was still nice and clean with great staff. Hiked the volcano which was so pretty! Make sure to have plenty of cash, in Bolivianos (small bills are best), with you to pay for entry and bathrooms at some of the stops (Isla Incahuasi, Galaxy Caves and the volcano- 30BOB each.

        Wonderful. Experience of a Lifetime
The trip was incredible. The Salt Flats are one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The tour included much more than I expected. Not just the salt flats, but lagoons, canyons desert, geysers and hot springs, Oh and an “island” of corals with cacti.. Huascar was our driver, guide and generally everything and more than one could wish for. He is knowledgeable and friendly and genuinely cares that everyone has a good time. We always felt safe with him and on a tour in such a remote area, that matters a lot

        Beautiful landscapes but careless guide
The landscape we were taken trough was absolutely amazing and stunning. The accommodation was good and the drivers very experienced. However, our guide only provided very limited and superficial information at the different stops and did not seem to care much about how we liked the tour. The guide did not seem to know the itinerary very well and provided different information than the driver. Moreover, we often had to ask for the plan and what was next. Lastly, the guide consequently called all the women on the tour ‘Barbie’ on the first day even after being asked to call us our real names. Over all, the landscapes you see on this tour are one of a kind and we wouldn’t have been without it, however we feel we could have gotten a lot more out of the tour if the guide had been more engaged and knowledgeable. The tour could also have been improved with a more flexible itinerary based on the group of people attending the specific tour.

        Most Beautiful Place on Earth
It was one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been on earth. RAQUEL AND CARLOS were excellent guides. Raquel was a wealth of knowledge and had amazing ideas for pictures and videos for us. Could not have asked for a better guide! They had a thought out itinerary but was flexible with it!

Can definitely recommend, they take care you have a great experience!
We really enjoyed this tour by Andes Salt Expeditions. Our tourguide Axel was very friendly and knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. Everything on the tour was well organised and they made sure there were no unpleasant surprises even those things can happen on adventures like this. You'll go home with great pictures to show and the only thing I could recommend is invest more in maintaining the cars, our car didn't have heating and the power was a bit limited so on some climbs we had to get out, of course no big deal but could be improved. All in all would definitely book again here!

        A Perfect Bolivia Sampler
This tour was fantastic. The salt flats were the stars of course, but the other places (mountains, volcanos, lagoons, hot springs) made for a perfect Bolivia sampler. Our guide Ivan was very knowledgeable and professional. He always made a point of giving us a heads up on what was coming up, how long we would be there, and what we should expect. I'm a birder so I really loved the gorgeous lagoon with hundreds of flamingos. Overnight lodgings were basic but well-maintained, with good food. Considering this included two overnights, it was an excellent value for the money.

Andes Salt Expeditions Lives Up to Great Reviews
I am so glad that I made the effort to go to Uyuni and the surrounding area. I looked into a lot of operators and Andes Salt Expeditions was by far the most communicative and patiently answered all my questions. I did the medium tiered tour and had a private room with hot water shower and the accommodations surpassed my expectations as did the guide, Jose. Jose spoke excellent English and was serious about sharing with us all that he knew about the gorgeous area both geographically, culturally and historically. He was also a really good driver and clearly took good care of his vehicle. He encouraged us to share our own music while driving from place to place and was open to how long we wanted to stay at each location. I was also surprised that lunch was not just sandwiches but hot food of meat and veggies and vegans were well-accommodated. Breakfast and dinner were provided by the hotels and were of good quality. There are so many operators to choose from and I am really glad I chose Andes Salt Expeditions as I felt they made the trip a little more special and personal. We had a fun group who also seemed to choose the operator carefully. The sights you see are gorgeous and as most of the trips offer the same itinerary it is really the other aspects like the guide that make a big difference. I am really glad I did the 3 day trip and fit Uyuni into my itinerary. It's a very unique place.

Would give 10 stars if we could
I've taken Uyuni tours in the past on 2 separate occasions. This march I took a tour with my new in-laws as part of a trip to my home country of Bolivia. We did a 3 day 2 night Superior Package tour with 2 private cars and it was fantastic. Dream Team: Eusebio - English speaking tour guide, 2 drivers: Henry ad Gregorio which were both safe and fun drivers. Our English speaking tour guide Eusebio Poma was fantastic, his english was prefect, he was not just regurgitating information in english but he was having random conversations with my family in english and it was very conversational. He stopped to take pics at all the hot spots, found great still areas where the mirror effect was spot on. If we return, I will definitely be asking for the same group.

A knowledgeable and all round guide
We joined a 3 days 2 nights private Superior Tour of Andes Expedition to explore the Salt Flat of Uyuni as well as the border desert area before the transfer to San Pedro de Atacama (border crossing from Bolivia to Chile). We're lucky to have our tour guide cum driver, Mr Jose Lozer, who kept us company throughout the whole journey. He was one of the few professional guide who spoke fluent English and knew inside out of Uyuni and the desert, together with his superb driving skills on the bumpy trail, the trip was so enjoyable that we would never forget. One point for Andes's consideration. During the enquiry process for fixing the price package, Andes guaranteed accommodation arrangement at Hotel Luna Salada would be arranged. It was not until the first day of the tour that accommodation would be changed to Palacio de Sal instead which caused unnecessary disappointment among my team members. With a hindsight, the location of Palacio might be a better one for arranging the activities of stargazing and sunrise at 4 AM for the trip. Why couldn't the Andes be more candid when drawing up the itinerary for their guest?

        Utterly blown away!!!
What an amazing experience (superlative warning before you read on!)-a full day on the salt flats and 2 days through the Bolivian sections of the Atacama desert-a feast of beautiful & surreal landscapes, multicoloured lagoons and a surprising variety of incredible wildlife. Ivan, our guide was the very best-knowledgable, kind, generous and authoritative-also a very skilled and safe 4x4 driver. Accommodation & food were great.

        AMAZING experience!!!
The guides (Raquel in particular), drivers and everyone at Andes Salt Expeditions made my tour of Uyuni so amazing. Before coming, I only knew of the famous salt flat, but the other parts of Bolivia they share with you are almost as stunning and so beautiful in their own right. I loved the adventure and memories they gave me and will come back again for sure! Muchissimas gracias!

Always ask for Henry the most amazing guide who made our trip.
3 day tour of Salt Flats ending with transfer to Atacama. Cannot rate this experience highly enough. From the moment of arrival we were looked after from start to finish. We were in the Spanish speaking tour with our driver Henry who was so lovely, caring, helpful & patient. He really looked after us, making our trip as smooth, flexible and enjoyable as possible. He was very attentive, realising we liked animals so was always happy to stop when we asked to take pictures on route. It really personalised the experience. He was very knowledgeable and spoke slow enough for our Spanish speaker to translate. When one of us was suffering with altitude sickness, he stopped at a pharmacy to get medicine to help. And also made made a tea in the evening. He was very caring & attentive. Henry was a sweet, funny guy who we all warmed to immediately. It was very sad to say goodbye at the end of our tour. Cannot recommend him enough and if I were you I would personally ask for him. An absolute diamond who made our trip super special 😍

        Great company!
Amazing tour! We were so well looked after by José, our guide and driver. He provided us with plenty of food, support and information throughout the tour, as well as some fun driving moments. Food and accommodation were good for where we were. Particularly liked that they tried to hang back where possible to make the moments more solitary and unique!

Writing this review again because it didn’t seem to post the first time… we did the one day salt flats tour with Christian and it was one of the best days of our holiday. Christian went above and beyond to make our day great, from curating amazing pictures to making sure we saw sunset by the lakes. I have never seen such beauty before as I did in Uyuni. Thank you Christian and Andean salt flats tour for the most amazing day!

We had a brilliant time on the 1 day salt flats tour with Israel and Fernando. Israel was a great guide and photographer, spoke good English, kept the group (split between 2 cars) on time and was a lot of fun. Fernando was also an excellent driver and the 4x4 was fitted with seatbelts. We visited the train cemetery and Colchani (for a short stop to hear about how salt is refined and processed for sale). We then spent lots of time on the flats for photos, lunch at the salt hotel, visited Incawasi Island, and finally wine and snacks before returning to Uyuni at 8pm. They also checked onward bus times of everyone in the group to ensure we were back in time for anyone travelling that evening.

We think the 1 day tour is a great option for anyone not planning on transferring on to Chile (San Pedro de Atacama) or who is short on time or money. We heard from others that the longer tours involve A LOT of driving, particularly on the final day if you are returning to Uyuni.

Overall it was a really special day and a highlight of our South America trip!

One of the coolest trip I have ever done!! Everything was just perfect. We arrived to Uyuni early in the morning and we were led to warm restaurant to spend 2-3h before our trip starts in a cosy place. Trip was well organized. We had a fantasist guide ISRAEL who was fluent in Spanish and English. He did everting he could to accommodate individual needs of all group members and he helped us with taking millions of great and original pictures. He alone prepared nice lunch and in the night he surprised us with a cosy wine + snack gathering at the sunset. On the way back he on purposed drove slowly and suddenly he stopped the car just to show us a Milky Way and thousands of other stars on a sky. Truly unforgettable experience. Thank you Israel for a wonderful day!

One of my favourite days in South America so far! The salt flats are absolutely beautiful and the sunset is worth it just it’s self! Our tour guide Fernando pulled out all the stops, providing a bottle of red, snacks and table and chairs to watch the sunset. He was very very professional and even extracted some salt crystals for us!

I paid for an English speaking guide, but unfortunately they didn’t have one so they paid me back my money, which is very reasonable and Fernando tried to speak some English anyway.

      An amazing day! Thanks Fernando!

This is an absolute must-see place with a tour company that tours the salt flats perfectly.

Our guide, Axel, is one of my favourite people I've met on our travels and was incredibly informative, funny and helpful during our tour: he gave us sufficient time to appreciate the environment, and gave us really insightful details into the importance of the area and the processing of salt.

On top of this, himself and Oscar put in a lot of effort to help us get pictures and videos that we will treasure forever - a big thank you to you both!!

We ate a delicious lunch at the flats, and then watched the sunset whilst drinking a delicious bottle of Bolivian red wine. All of this meant we had ample time to chat and get to know the rest of the lovely group.

There was a slight miscommunication between myself and the office RE what time we needed to get back to the coach (mostly my fault), but Axel was able to accommodate us last minute to get our coach back, which we REALLY appreciate. Thank you Axel!

This tour was one of the best decisions of my life! Harry(excuse me if I get his name wrong), was so exceptional at telling us everything about the salt flats and it’s unique peculiarities! He was also a master photographer. There is so much history in this small town, and so much beauty! I HIGHLY recommend this tour - not only for the beautiful views and pictures, but for the experience of a lifetime with a local expert.

This tour was an enjoyment and totally exceeded our expectations thanks to our tour guide Behimar. We did what was in the itinerary and each stop was given just enough time to do private activity and group activity. We love the sit down lunch at a salt restaurant area. They made a table and brought properly cooked meat, egg pancakes, vegetables and fruits. Very delicious. We also did a lot of funny shots and videos on salt flats which is genius in design by Behimar. We had so much fun. Then we went to the fish island and just before the sun went down we reached the wet area where we can do the mirror effect photos. It was amazing and we didn't expect that we could do it in the dry season but it all happened. Thank you Behimar and Andes Salt Expeditions, you have given us the best day in Bolivia

This was a great way to see the salt flats in a small group tour. Our guide Alejandro was informative, came with contextual visual aids and kept us informed about what to expect at every juncture. Our driver Fernando was a super photographer and laid out wine and snacks while we watched the sunset.
Only suggestion to improve the tour would be to tarp up our excess bags so they don't get caked with salt on the roof rack.

This trip was brilliant, one of the best tours we’ve done in South America. The guides Fernando and Axel were very knowledgeable and friendly. They took us to many different parts of the Salt Flats, told us about the history and helped us take pictures and videos. I would 100% recommend this tour, the reflective sunset was beautiful, something not to be missed.

With this tour you can expect a day full of wonderful, breathtaking and unforgettable impressions. We booked the one day tour to the salt flats and were out from 10:30am to 8pm including a good lunch (vegetarian option possible). We can only recommend this tour! A huge thanks to our great tour guide and professional photographer for optical illusions on salt flats, Eduardo! 🙏

P.s: To Germans who plan to do the tour to the salt flats, take a German flag 🇩🇪 with you - it's still missing from all the flags next to the Dakar Monument.
