Relaxing day in the Abel Tasman
Mako was our Captain/tour guide for the day! He made our experience awesome, very informative but made it fun & interesting. High recommend sail adventures great team to work with from booking & deciding which trip to go on. Great for people of all ages. A bliss-full day skimming across turquoise waters
My husband and I did the full-day sail -- a delightful, memorable experience and a highlight of our month holiday-ing in NZ. The catamaran was modern and "pristine clean", departure organized and on time. We were blessed with a sunny blue-bird sky. Weather wasn't 'swimmingly hot' so we were glad of cozy blankets they made available. There is simply nothing sweeter than being under sail, sitting on the front deck perch with the wind on your face, and watching emerald waters skim by!! Heaven. Scenery and deserted beaches along the way - epic. The Skipper (Mark) was highly experienced and capable and conscientious. His assistant crew gal (Claudia) was committed to making our experience positive, funny as heck, and authentically engaged with us - we immediately loved her and her stories. One small note -- set expectations with respect to what wildlife you'll see - you might see a lot, or you might not! Certainly no reflection of the folks running the trip.

A walk in nature followed by an afternoon cruise, yes please
Beautiful walk, easy to follow. Afternoon cruise topped every expectation. The catamaran was spotless, the never ending supply of tea, coffee and cookies, the crew beyond friendly and super knowledgeable. 11/10!

Fantastic day out with Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures
We had a great day out on the full day sailing adventure, in fantastic weather. Mark and Claudia, our crew, provided lots of interesting info on the National Park, the local flora & fauna etc., in a relaxed, fun style. We were lucky to see not just lots of fur seals and some blue penguins (difficult to spot), but a pod of about 50 dolphins, who played around the yacht for for c 30 mins - twice! Highly recommend.

A Wonderful Day in Abel Tasman
The whole package was amazing. The morning trip on The Shuttle was good, the walk out around the point of the peninsula in the cool of the morning had fantastic views. Back in Anchorage we swam in the beautiful clear water before joining the catamaran. My husband, a keen sailor, was allowed to take the helm! The skipper and crew made the trip fun for everyone. They especially encouraged the younger people to participate. This was one of the best days of our brilliant holiday on The South Island.

Memorable sailing in Abel Tasman NP
It was an amazing experience on a clean and comfortable catamaran. We watched Splitted Apple rock, saw seals and baby seals, had lunch at the beautiful Anchorage bay. I even had time, for a short walk to Te Pukatea bay in lunch time. The lunch was delicious sandwich, soft cakes and apple. Captain Nik and his help Claudia were super attentive and helpful, providing many information regarding the national park, animal life, sailing. We even had the opportunity to drive the catamaran. Thank you Captain Nik and Claudia to make this day so memorable for us!

      Great day out
Great day out sailing along the Abel Tasman coastline with informative commentary from the crew as appropriate. Stopped for an hour and ate lunch on a lovely quiet beach. It was fairly windy out at sea so was exciting at times. Crew were very knowledgeable & happy to answer questions. We covered quite a long distance.

      Very nice. Recommend.
Easy booking through Victor, description very accurate. Ran right on time. Big, comfortable catamaran sailboat for the afternoon sail. Number of passengers allowed makes for non-crowded conditions. Friendly crew. It would be very nice if they added a 3 or 5 kayak's on the boat (as a competitor does) so that passengers can take a short kayak during the hour between when the sailboat boat arrives at Anchorage Bay and when it departs an hour later if they don't want to hike or swim.

      Relaxing Sail in Beautiful Waters
My husband and I had a beautiful sail in a very clean and comfortable catamaran. From the water, the National Park is a pretty series of coves and bays. Captain Mark and first mate Claudia were friendly and eager to make sure we had an optimal experience. The bag lunch included a delicious fresh sandwich, fruit, and two desserts. We would highly recommend this cruise.

      Wonderful Day!
After walking the coastal track this was a great way to see the park from the water. We enjoyed seal spotting on Adele Island and caught brief glimpses of dolphins. The wind picked up in the afternoon so we could sail properly and appreciate what a great boat this is. Thanks to all the team and Mark our skipper for giving us a day to remember.

      Enjoy the stunning coastline!
A wonderful journey along the Abel Tasman coast, which is stunning! The skipper Mark and in particular Richard who was crewing, were friendly and informative. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because we weren’t properly under sail. However, that’s no fault of theirs. Had the wind have been up it would have been 5 stars all the way. Made friends on the cruise too resulting in a great day!

A great day out: cruise, walk and sail
My wife and I visited New Zealand in 2019 and had booked to do this cruise. Sadly, a broken ankle meant that Karen could not do the tour at that time, so she was very pleased to be able to do it in 2024 The cruise took us into the Abel Tasman national park and dropped us off at Anchorage beach We then did the walk to Pitt Head and Te Puketea beach, where one of our party of 4 swam. After the swim, we walked back to Anchorage beach and had some lunch. Shortly after, the catamaran arrived, and it was comforting to see that the boat offered some shade - that had not been the case in 2019. The skipper, Rik (?), was very entertaining and accommodating, and as there was not much wind, the return to Kaiteriteri beach was under power. Rik offered several of the passengers the chance to take the helm, and we were very pleased to have a go. He also navigated the boat into an area that would not normally be possible, because of the tides. All in all, it was a great day out and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a way to experience the Abel Tasman national park

The best boat trip to date
Our fourth boat trip to date and easily the best. We were superbly looked after by Nick and Claudia. Great sailing, so many beautiful bays, loads of opportunities to jump in and swim, golden sands, yummy lunch. Some stepped off half way and walked back while others enjoyed the boat all day. Watch the sun especially of swimming but definitely try this trip.

we bought the service from the Motueka i site we wanted a day trip with several stops in the park. in the end we sign for Sailing expedition. the morning is going pretty well, we become split apple rock, then sea lion spot (although it is very long for our taste), 20 min stop on a first magnificent beach, then lunch on Anchorage beach, 30 min. We barely have time to eat, no time to walk or even swim. We drop off those who return by walking and leave with other passengers: those who went around on foot in the morning and for the return, complete disappointment. We redo the same points of interest as on the outward journey. And sailing is very long we also regret that the skipper is not more talkative, funny and that he explains neither the route nor too much the history of the park and its fauna. Maybe we may be too demanding

Hi. Thank you for sailing with us and for your comments. It is usual for the tour to have 1 hour lunch stop at Anchorage beach which is plenty of time for walking and swimming. On this occasion I can only assume the skipper offered sailors the option of an additional beach stop which was chosen. One of the advantages of our small group tours to be able to be flexible with the itinerary.

A great option to enjoy a scenic sail to Anchorage and walk the Abel Tasman track back to Marahau. The customer service was fantastic and Jan-Maree offered good information about the self-guided walk part of the tour. The boat trip was relaxing and allowed for scenic viewing of Split Apple Rock. Highly recommended.

Despite my being totally disorganised and failing to read the instructions properly the staff went out of their way and ensured we could still make the experience.
The sail was a brilliant beginning to the experience and luckily the numbers on the boat were about right, if we'd had a few more it might have been a bit of a squeeze. But the scenery and wildlife were the real stars and the weather certainly helped too, Abel Tasman is a very beautiful party of the world.
The hike isn't too arduous, although the very beginning is a little steep but it soon levels out and gets easier and again, the scenery helped to take our minds off the distance.
At the finish of the hike there's a great cafe where we enjoyed a well earned drink and a snack.
If your in two minds about this then go for it, it's definitely worthwhile

Nice And professional skipper. Showed us the most remarkable lagoons. Told about the history and took good are of his guests. Gave us blankets against the cold winds and coffee or tea to get warm. After the hike of four hours it was good to get on board and sail home.

Abel Tasman National Park is one of the (many) jewels of New Zealand and for visitors with a limited time (or hiking skills), a 4 days walk is a bit too long to discover the park. In a previous trip we tried to visit it by sea with the kayak, but we are glad we took the “Walk and Sail” option this time !

The 12 km walk to Anchorage Bay is a wonderful hike that can be recommended even to families (if kids are correctly equipped and prepared for walking) and the return by sailing is a great opportunity to relax and enjoy the Park from the seaside, which allows experiencing both visions of this Nature’s treasure.

The staff is very kind and helpful and they accepted to make special arrangements for us (shuttle in the morning rather than in the afternoon) so we can have the best possible experience.

    Highly recommended!
