- andrewjenny0 contributionsAwesome fun in KawaguchikoWe had a great time visiting Fuji Q Highland Park. Got quick train from Kawaguchiko station which takes you to the entrance of park. You have options to go into park for free and pay for rides while inside. You can also choose to pay for unlimited rides, select number of rides etc. Plenty of options. The park is so much fun with heaps of things to look at. There are endless food drink options. We choose the biggest roller-coaster Fujiyama. It was full on and we had a blast. Also had some lunch which was good. I would recommend this for anyone wanting something light hearted and fun. This would be a great option for families.Written 14 February 2025
- mchrissend0 contributionsBest experience ever!!I'm not sure why Fuji-Q is getting so many one-star ratings because my experience was so good!! I booked my ticket through klook as I was on the car ride to Fuji-Q because I wanted to make sure that the weather will be good and that the thrill rides are open. The booking process was so easy and straightforward--pay through the app and get the QR code instantly. From there you just present the QR code to the person right before security where they will give you a physical ticket which you use to pass through the facial recognition registration gate. From there, you'll just use the facial recognition to enter the rides. Super simple. Went there on a Sunday in winter, and to our surprise, there were very short queues. We didn't get any priority passes anymore since the wait times for the thrill rides were 20-40 mins. The only downside about going in winter are: 1. Rides suddenly close due to strong winds and low temperatures. We were still able to ride Fujiyama then noticed they stopped the ride due to winds an hour later and never reopened within the day. 2. COLD. It was like being blasted with freezing winds on your face, and my feet were numb after Eejenaika since shoes are taken off. But hey I rode them multiple times so I'm not complaining. There were absolutely no queues for food which was a relief after experiencing a hell of a queue just for a box of pizza at USJ. We ate the pork cutlet and yakisoba and it was so good. We went inside Starbucks to warm ourselves after rides and even that didn't have any queues. Overall, i had such a great, great time and 10/10 I will go back again in the winter time.Written 22 December 2024
- spenspuma0 contributionsAWFUL THEME PARK. Most rides Closed, Poor Operations, Rusty Run down rides. Waste of Money!AWFUL AWFUL Theme Park!!! 1) Most rides were closed- only a handful open, we were bored after 2 hours and had another 6 hours till our return bus was due 2) Painfully slow operations!! Terribly inefficient running of rides, meaning even though the queue was quiet, it took 30 minutes to get 20 people through the ride queues. 3) Run down Park, with rusty badly kept rides, would certainly worry about the safety of some of them 4) Of the handful of rides that were open, most closed rediculously early (4pm) so the staff could get out at 5pm when the park closed. 5) They've done everything to block your view of Mount Fuji...it's either the hotel, the rollercoasters or an ugly looking run down restaurant! I just don't recommend the effort and time it takes to get to this park. They shouldn't charge full price when most rides were not open. It's so run down that it gives the impression that the park is about to go out of Business and close. I just regret wasting a day of our Japan trip at this terrible park. Do yourself a favour and give this park a miss. Japan has many good theme parks, but unfortunately Fuji-Q Highland is not one of them. Just barely in mind Disney is just £10 more to get in and is a million times better experience.Written 10 December 2024
- 535StephenS0 contributionsLoooong Wait Times & Very $$$I saw some reviews that this place should be renamed Fuji QUEUE because of the long wait times for rides but we hoped our visit would be less crowded... Although it looked like there weren't that many people visiting, the ride lines were between 40 minutes and up to 2 hours long! Which is just outrageous! We ended up buying the express passes but these are EXTREMELY over priced at 30 dollars (AUD) each!!! Food and drinks are also very expensive. Not as well kept as Disney but the rides (when you eventually get on them) are awesome!Written 16 October 2024
- helliedoc0 contributionsFuji funI have visited many amusement parks and this is the most civilised. We were lucky to be staying in the Highland resort next door so got discounted day passes and the magical 30 mins to ride the biggest coasters before a queue formed.Staff were lovely and the safety checks thorough( necessary when you have the tallest coaster at 72 metres and another with the steepest descent at 121 degrees). The young Japanese crowd visiting were well mannered and we saw no running or queue hopping but they really excelled at screaming! With the day pass and the flawless face recognition you can come and go which was useful when a storm arrived in the afternoon.Written 12 September 2024
- R5870MWgeoffw0 contributionsBuy the day ticketWent here with family, theres some really good rides but it should be called "Fuji Queue Highland". Make your life easy and get the day ticket which includes all the extra parks like Thomas Land otherwise you have to deal with hard to use ticket machines for each ride. Use the bus and the train to get back into the town from here, you need to speak Japanese to order a taxiWritten 30 August 2024
- Wonyk4140 contributionsMust goThe place was so big and fun, I like how they let you enter for free so that you can save money the rides you want to ride and the rides you don't. The food there is all great with themed food, a wide variety and great tasting.Written 24 August 2024
- racheldJ577WG0 contributionsSuch a disappointment.Awful. The toilets at entry were filthy at the beginning of the day, which wasn’t a good start. We were loving the rides (these are good) when everything closed for a thunderstorm, which I completely understand. However, all catering facilities also closed, both inside and out, which made no sense at all. There wasn’t a power cut as lights were working, just the ordering food machines had been turned off. We’ve been to theme parks all over the world and never experienced this. Really regret visiting. Why build a theme park in the mountains where weather changes from one moment to the next without providing adequate facilities? Go elsewhere and save your money.Written 4 August 2024
- TravelFanAus0 contributionsExcellent Theme Park with a View of Mt FujiIf you're in the Mt Fuji area and love roller coasters, you have to visit this park! Lots of fun rides and you can bring in your own food supplies if you wish. There is something for everyone. Do check when they are open as we turned up one day when the park was closed for maintenance. Otherwise, it was fantastic!Written 15 July 2024
- douglaslB357PC0 contributionsBest experience everI'm a big fan of roller coasters and during my trip to Japan, I was really excited to try the famous Fujikyu Highland.I absolutely loved the Fujiyama roller coaster and ride it twice. I was also looking forward to trying the Dodonpa, but it seems that it was closed. There was a path lined with small stores where I bought some fried chicken and fried fish. Additionally, there was a large food court where they sold dishes like ramen, curry, and more.Written 7 July 2024
- craigsU5910FV0 contributionsGreat fun and not too busyThis worked out really well for us for 2 reasons. The weather was great for April, cloudy then sunny but not too warm and no wind and My wife did lots of research into rides, ticketing and priority tickets. Face recognition technology made it quick and easy to get onto rides. A Small theme park versus US standards but queues were short for us and there is the novelty of it being in Japan. Big roller coasters and big rides were amazing.Written 6 April 2024
- 593leigho0 contributionsShame about the weather. The attractions looked great and the ones we were able to use were excellent. However there was a light to moderate rain falling and they closed all the attractions. No refund is available as a result of closurea due to ‘extreme’ weather.Written 2 April 2024
- gemmahC4109EK0 contributionsScreamWe went just for the haunted hospital and were not disappointed. Absolutely terrifying. My voice was hoarse from screaming. Was crazy looking at all the rollercoasters and the Hidden Leaf Village (Naruto) was a great surprise! Get a free entrance ticket (can get on the day at Fuji-Q) if just going to look around and buy rides you want to go on. The Naruto village is free to look around.Written 18 January 2024
- gingersg880 contributionsWe are back again !!Yes, we are back again but this time quite disappointed that the 2 main rides were closed for maintenance. We did not check prior as did not anticipate that to happen in Dec. Nevertheless, realise that there are some changes as a few rides were gone and new ones added. Overall, good experience though.Written 3 January 2024

Went to Fuji Q on 24th July, Friday. 2020.
We thought it would not be crowded due to covid and weather forecast being cloudy/rainy. It was, though, a friday part of a long weekend in Japan. However, the park was packed and some waiting times were up to 210 minutes for some of the best rides like DaDanpa.
Also, 2 of the main rides were broken due to maintenance, which was not nice.
Finally, when it rained relatively hard (and then it stopped), the more simple rides like Pizzala closed for the rest of the day, which was dissapointing.
Overall, this park has some amazing rides but try to go on a day with not so many people. The waiting gets really tedious.
Priority passes were all gone by 11 am for the rest of the day.

We took an early bus at 06:30 from Tokio central station and arrived at Fuji-Q Highland 30min before the park opened. So we were among the first ones to buy a ticket and to enter the park. At the end of the day at 17:00 we took the bus back to Tokio. It was a long day, but totally worth it!
We spent an amazing day in the park and managed to do all big roller coasters (some of them even 2 times) and most of the other attractions.
The face recognition for the rides works very well and saves a lot of time as you don't need to show your ticket every time (if you have a day-pass). There are also lockers for all main rides where you can easily (and have to) place all your belongings.
It is definitely worth checking the crowd calendar of their website first. We went on a “yellow day - 35pt” and there were only short queues (up to 20min) in the morning, in the afternoon we had to queue 1h for one roller coaster.
The park is perfect for people who want to ride the big roller coasters and like the "thrill", but less for those who like to enjoy the overall setting of the park. The overall setting is not very special and not following a specific theme like in other amusement parks / Disney World, so you go there mainly for the roller coasters.

Lots of world record breaking rides, not for the faint-hearted! I found it very easy to get to from Tokyo via train, and from some of the rides you get fantastic views of Mt. Fuji.

The coasters here are pretty good but the queues are long and move very slowly. If you pay more you can get a priority ticket and walk everyone in the line, thus causing everyone else to wait even longer. We were there in an off peak time but still we waited over 90 minutes each time

We read a lot of bad reviews but thought, we would give it a go anyway. We got there right on opening time and within five hours we did the big four roller coasters 2 times each plus the asylum hospital, the pizza-la (spinny boy) and ate lunch. Such a good day and would 100 recommend going. It was a Tuesday when we went fyi.

Visited here 1/12/19 for the first time. The park is at the foot of Mt Fuji so you can see this majestic mountain while having fun in the park.
There are some AMAZING rides, including Fujiyama, a roller coaster that made the Guinness World Book of Records for the worlds highest roller coaster. It was terrifyingly exciting...thought I was going to die!
Rides are nicely spread out and there is a very pretty and large outdoor ice skating rink which is nice for some time out.
Wait times were pretty long, averaging 80 minutes for the biggest rides, but overall not too bad. Some rides were closed for periods of time throughout the day due to high winds but, as we were already in line when one ride was closed, we were given fast passes and came back later when it reopened.
Having visited many theme parks around the world, I was impressed that Fuji Q uses facial recognition for entry, ride access and exiting the park. Pretty cool.
Worthwhile if you love coasters and want something different.

I have ridden roller coasters all over the world and this one was the best. You are able to see a great view of Mt.Fuji from the top, then plunge in to oblivion. Stayed at the hotel on site. It was very expensive but worth the money to have the park right out side of the doors of your room. Breakfast was phenomenal with stunning views of park and mountain.

I would say its a must to try all the roller coasters as they are easily the highlights of the park. Make sure there's good weather on the day you are visiting. Fujiyama is the best because i love drops and managed to go on it like 7 times!

FujiQ Highland is an amazing Amusement Park. I'd say it is unique since is the only one in the world where you can view Fujisan from the park and rides. It is really very special.
The roller coasters are amazing and have been or still are in the Guinness book, either for fatest acceleration or the most steeper, among other unique features.
However there is a huge downside from my perspective. The closing time is ridiculously early. It is 17:30 in autumn. Plus, the main rides have long queues, sometimes 2 hours long. And when it happens, they close the entrance for the ride 3h30pm.
As a comparison, Universal Studios in Osaka closes at 9h30pm during the same period.
The atmosphere and the park itself are great! But please, think about this closing time, so everybody can enjoy more a place that it is not cheap and far away for most visitors.
As a last tip, during the morning you can enjoy more attractions with shorter lines. In the afternoon it gets insane.

From where can i book discounted tickets for a full day pass for 16th August 2019?
I have a JR pass already, so is it better to take the Fujikyu railway from Otsuki station or a bus?
Written 11 August 2019
The railway will drop you right in front of the park, which I prefer. The bus takes you to the backside of the park.
Written 18 August 2019
What is the best way to get to the park from Tokyo Station? We are traveling in November. Thanking you all in advance!
Written 22 July 2019
We took the train from Tokyo station to Shibuya station then a bus to Fuji. Easiest and cheapest way.
