About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- florinm8540 contributionsDeceptiveThe only good reviews are for the catamaran Malube and its crew, Santiago and the captain Ivan. All the rest is one lifetime scam and the destruction of the ecosystem. Hundreds of swimmers above a small reef, everybody aggresive to sell you something .....Written 17 November 2024
- Gary H0 contributionsFun and great value for the moneyOverall, I would rate a five because of the experience, fun we had and overall value for the money. The only things I would change would be the zip line experience and the check-in process. When we got off the shuttle bus, we were directed to the check-in area but had no clue what to do when we got there. We stood at the front desk by several of the employees, but nobody said anything for at least 15 minutes. We finally realized that the guide calls your name , when you need to come up and sign the forms. It would've been nice to know that out the gate so that we could've sat down and waited until that happened. For the zip lines, they were fun, but it was precarious because you had to standon a cut log to get hooked up to the wire. It would be a lot safer if they made some wooden boxes as the riders wouldn't feel like they were gonna fall off and the operators would know they were secure. Other than that, the luncheon was good and all the employees were very nice. I would recommend this excursion.Written 25 July 2024
- stevensalena0 contributionsNot All Excursion Details Are Accurate & Creepy Tour GuideI wouldn't say we had the worst time, but it certainly wasn't the best. We were told to be outside the hotel lobby at 5:50 a.m. for the 6:00 a.m. pickup and to be respectful of time. However, our pickup was 25 minutes late. I was unaware that the pickup van was taking us to downtown Cancun, only to switch to a big bus that was going 45 minutes south to Playa del Carmen. The bus was filled with passengers going different directions. So what we thought would be two hour ride to Holbox ended up taking 5 hours to get to. We were told the guided tour was in English, but most of the time he spoke Spanish and sometimes in French. We had to continue to remind him that we would need the instructions in English in order to follow them. The excursion details on viator indicates that breakfast and lunch in a restaurant are included with the purchase price. Around 9:45 a.m. the guide on the bus passed around brown bag lunches (bologne sandwich, an apple, granola bar, and a juice) to everyone. This is when we thought we were on the wrong tour. But please be sure to eat what you are given, as it is 2:00 p.m. before you actually eat lunch at a sit down restaurant. There was no breakfast and no time to stop for breakfast anywhere. While on the bus, the tour guide collects the $3 USD tax that is not included. Only, it was a $4 USD tax per person, not $3 as mentioned in the detailed information. Not that this was a big deal to us, but it was to others on the bus. Once the bus stops in Holbox, you should have your sunscreen on before getting on the boat. I was trying to put mine on while on the boat and was quickly reprimanded for putting it on. I was told it wasn't allowed at the cenote (first stop). Maybe this was told to everyone on the bus in Spanish? The cenote swim was good, Pasion Island was beautiful, and so was Punto Mosquito. The lunch at the restaurant on Isla Holbox was delicious! One thing that is not mentioned anywhere is that there is no place to sit on the beach, unless you purchase everything (beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.). Bicycle rental for an hour is supposed to be included with the purchase of your excursion, however, the guide wasn't sure where the rental was and then proceeded to tell us that is was more than likely closed due to Mother's Day. So my husband and I paid an extra $40 to be driven around the island in their taxi service so we could explore the island. Prices for items on this island are very high. Much more than normal. Once our time was up, we boarded the boat to head back to the mainland. Throughout the day, every time we were all on the boat things were getting creepier and creepier with our tour guide. He continued throughout the entire day to hit on this young lady from Argentina (traveling with her parents). Serenading her numerous times with numerous love songs blasting from our boat. To the point where no other guest mattered and everyone was feeling a bit uncomfortable. I believe it was when he started playing "Let's get it on" by Marvin Gaye is when it really became uncomfortable. Once we reached the mainland, we all boarded the bus again, ready for the treacherous 5 hour drive back to Cancun. Once boarded, our tour guide found where the young lady was sitting, brushing her hair. He proceeded to flirt some more by taking her brush from her and smelling it. Then took it around and asked others to smell her brush. My husband and I were repulsed and just wanted to get back to our hotel. It's hard to say whether or not we would take this excursion again or recommend it to others. I think if it took less than 5 hours to get to and less than 5 hours to get back, sure, we would recommend. But DEFINITELY we would recommend this excursion to others if the tour guide tried a little harder to accommodate everyone on board (speaking English for those of us who needed that) not just one individual and if he was a little less flirtatious and creepy to the young women on board.Written 14 May 2024
- pialX8453XE0 contributionsFun time and great guidesLots of fun, guides were great, especially George of the Jungle. Someone lost their wallet at the cenote and a guide went bobbing in the water and found it. ATV was a little sketchy, book a side-by-side if nervous. Also being mostly in the jungle was a nice break from the hot sun. We upgraded to the VIP and found it was worth it for the extra food & drinks.Written 1 April 2024
- monikadL5915OL0 contributionsWas fun, but the cenote made me sick, a lot of bats and bat fecesThe staff at the ziplining course is very efficient and knows what they are doing, it's very safe from start to finish. The ATVs were very hard to steer and handle, and bottom out over the bumps on the course, definitely get the extra insurance as the ATV could break just on the course without even having an accident. The cenotes was definitely neat, but DO NOT go under the water, do not get the water in your mouth or ears, and do not swim here with open cuts, the water is full of bat feces. After swimming in this cenote I got very sick for 24 hours. Diarrhea, fever, body aches and fatigue. After doing some reading this is very common, especially if water gets in your mouth or ears. I had been in 3 different cenotes at different sites prior to this and did not get sick from those ones, but they did not have bats in them.Written 25 March 2024
- Derek W0 contributionsXtreme Waiting Not XavageExtreme Waiting, not Xavage is what this place was. We were able to do two rides which was the speedboat and the 4x4 vehicle and that was it. Had to wait almost 2 hours per ride. The speed boat was fun, but the Monster Truck ride was really bad, and here’s why. The suspension was really rough, meaning the struts shocks were either cheap and out of oil or air. The tires were bald and the gas pedal and brake pedals were wobbly and cheap, the brakes didn’t even work. It hurt to drive through their terrain course. Some of the obstacles are cool, but that was like 2 out of 15, MOST of the obstacles are horrible though. And because of the inexperienced drivers it makes for an even worse experience. My wife’s shoulders and back started hurting after the activity. We are active people that have several 4x4 vehicles and drive level 5 4x4 trails a lot. It felt like we wasted an entire day of our vacation. We really wanted to try everything that was available there at Xavage, but due to the long wait it isn’t possible. waiting lines were painful just standing for hours. Would have been good to hang out in a hammock while we were waiting. Hopefully they change some thingsWritten 15 January 2024

- tb3660 contributionsFun, fun, fun 😁😁!!My husband and I, made the reservations for 9/23/23 with our concierge, Patricia at the EL TAJ Hotel in Playa Del Carmen. We had a wonderful time with these activities. My favorite was all three. We did the ATV first and it was bumpy, fast, and about 30 minutes. The instructor, “Brian” was excellent with explaining about each activity. Second was the Tequila tasting. That was a surprise to me!! 🥃The history was very interesting of how tequila is made from the Agave Plant and the length of time for it to be ready to drink (14 years). Third we went to the Cenote (a big water hole) but made by nature and fourth came back to go Zip Lining ( thank you Natalie for helping) and finally we had eatenTaco’s, taste very good🌮🌮. While eating, there was entertainment of a drum ceremony, very good. Thank you for a “Happy Birthday!!” Everyone was very professional👍🏾👍🏾‼️‼️Written 4 October 2023
- Jessica V0 contributionsFun but not very clean. The activities were fun. We did the zip-line, ATV, and cenote swim. Cost is pretty good. We wore safety helmets for the zip-line and ATV. The helmets were very dirty and gross. They smell horrible and probably never washed. Your hair will end up smelling like that horrible smell. Did not like that they did not allow us to have anything on us including our cellphones for the zip-line and ATV. I kept my phone on me and they confiscated it away when they discovered I had it. I don’t understand why we can’t have our cellphones on us. Overall the experience was fun but I think their are better ones out there that do the similar activities. Didn’t like them keep pushing us to tip them constantly.Written 3 September 2023
- turcottekris0 contributionsTerrible experienceGuides were rude and rushed us through things. ATV was just a big circle path with nothing to see. We weren’t allowed to keep our phones with us so we couldn’t take any pictures ourselves. They took pictures and wanted us to buy them for $35 per picture. They didn’t have any water available to drink while zip lining so everyone was very dehydrated and shaky making it unsafe. All they were concerned about was reminding us to tip them. The guide rushed my sister off the zipline and she fell and badly sprained her ankle but no one stopped to check on her. It was like pulling teeth to get them to give us a bag of ice for her to put on it. She had to sit down on a bench so she could put her leg up and it was away from the food area so when they served lunch, they wouldn’t let us take her any food. And when the van came to take us back they wouldn’t allow the driver to stop and pick her up. She was in a lot of pain and could barely walk but they insisted she get up and walk over to the van.Written 13 August 2023
- B6664NTkristinr0 contributionsWonderful Time!We had an amazing time. The place was absolutely beautiful just walking to the boats. We got on the boat and with barely any wait at all we were off, playing fun games, nibbling, listening to music and drinking. Before you knew it we had a stop to use the bathrooms, then dinner was served. It was a plate of food with different things to try. By our next bathroom break/stop we were served different desserts and Mexican coffee that tasted amazing. The whole time we were laughing and having a good time and talking with others on the boat. We didn't know much Spanish but our guide spoke English too and other guests translated. It was a very beautiful facility and recommend this tour. It's just a quick drive off the Cancun resort we were at and they come and pick you up. I felt completely safe and be sure to wear bug spray. I sweat alot and did wear bug spray but it wore off and I did get some bites.Written 7 August 2023
- R7646CHalenap0 contributionsGreat experience - totally worth it!Great experience, definitely recommend it to check it out. It wasn't long you ride for 45 minutes, swim for another 45, eat and go, definitely worth doing if you don't want to send a whole day on a tour. But my recommendation to split the groups if you have slow riders take them separately and let the other people who want to ride a little faster on a separate route. Swimming, jumping and zip lining in Cenote was fun. Food was ok I think you guys can do better, cleaning the tables after people eat and cleaning the dirty dishes will give you better rating. Photos were definitely worth it. 450 pictures for $65 are very worth it.Written 24 May 2023
- Safari5422240 contributionsFun but rushedThis was a fun activity for a fair price. The only downside was they rushed us through the activities only to wait for our transport for over an hour at the end.Written 9 April 2023

- Mustangsly0 contributionsOkIt took a long time to get underway. The show was hard to follow and could have been better. I liked the fireworks and the fact they actually jumped in the water. The lobster was rubbery and tasted bland. The rest of the food was good.Written 15 December 2022
