Best Value for Private Tour Chichen-Itza
We had a private full day tour with Quetzal to Chichen itza, the cenote and lunch in Valladolid. Our guide spoke excellent English and was a certified guide with years of experience. He was very informative and flexible and an excellent driver! This tour company offered the best value for a private tour compared to the 10-15 I looked at.

          It worth every penny
We spent 4 days with Salvador. He picked us up at our hotel in Cancun and we left for four entire days in Yucatan. He took care of everything and we only had to enjoy the tour and the fantastic professionalism of our guide while visiting ruins, cenote, hacienda or even wildlife. Salvador is a very smart and educated man who can have deep conversation and even deeper knowledge on many subjects. We could have never found someone more reliable, professional and passionate by his job. The places we have been to were superbs, the hotels selected by Salvodore were luxurious but affordable and authentics. After 4 days he drove us to our resort for the second part of our holidays. We strongly recommend "Best Maya Tours" and Salvador as the guide to spend time with in Yucatan.

          Tulum Excursion
We had a great time exploring the Mayan Tulum ruins and visiting a nearby cenote… even saw a terror! Thank you for a well organized excursion.

Best VIP Private Tour to Chichen Itza for your money!
I would highly recommend you booking this VIP Tour to Chichen Itza with Best Maya Tours! Our guide Quetzal was prompt when picking my husband and I up at the Westin Laguanamar Hotel in Cancun at 6:30 am. We arrived at Chichen Itza as they were opening up and before the tour buses arrived. Quetzal (Captain Snake) was both knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Chichen Itza and the Mayan culture. He even taught himself the Maya language which was evident as he conversed with workers and venders as we toured. My husband and I learned so many interesting things today. Quetzal constantly attended to our needs. Do you need a break or a drink etc. Our next stop was to Oxman Cenote where we got to swim and enjoy a delicious traditional Mayan meal. I can’t say enough about the different food my husband and I tried. Our last stop was in the colonial city of Valladolid. Again very much worth seeing! This tour was worth every peso we spent!

          Fantastic Guided Multi-Day Tour!
My husband and I did a private Yucatan tour for four days with Salvador of Best Maya Tours in January of 2024. Our only request prior to the trip was that we see Mayan ruins. Salvador arranged a wonderful tour for us, as well as arranged our hotels in Merida and Valladolid. We toured five different ruin sites, swam in two cenotes, and toured a hacienda from the 1700s. Our hotels were exactly what we wanted--boutique, beautiful, and very special. Salvador was an excellent guide--he is very knowledgeable on the history and culture of the Mayan people, and we learned so much. We toured at our own pace, and he was patient with our million questions and comments. Salvador took multiple pictures on his own camera and later emailed them to us, which was so helpful. At the ruin sites he handled the tickets/passes, and we walked right in avoiding the crowds. He also took us to his favorite local specialty restaurants for lunch, and we loved that part of the experience. We are so thankful we were able to have a private tour--there was so much to see and Salvador made it easier and fascinating!

          Highly recommend this excursion!
We had an amazing time going on an excursion with Sal. It was a perfect combination of archeological, snorkeling and culinary experience all in one excursion. Sal was attentive, content was relevant and curated to our interests. I would definitely recommend Sal to those visiting Tulum.

          Quality private tour
Absolutely brilliant - we had a couple of great days with Salvador in January 2024 exploring ruins, sampling local specialties at little local places and creating amazing memories! Thanks Salvador for sharing your Mayan and local knowledge with us.

          Perfect Experience
Wonderful experience with Salvador on this full-day tour. He was reliable, efficient, and very adaptable to our family's requests. Even on the day prior to our excursion, he made some requested changes without hesitation. We would very much recommend Best Maya Tours to anyone, and will absolutely be reaching back out to them for future travel to the area.

          Great low key tour
Very informative guide. We had a great time with Salvador. I would’ve liked to know more about the culture and mythology in addition to the architecture. The cenote was beautiful and Salvador was very patient with us. The church was closed but it was nice to walk around the town of Valladolid.

Wonderful day out at Sian Ka'an
We had a wonderful day out at Sian Ka'an biosphere with Salvador, where we were lucky enough to see ospreys, manatees and even a crocodile! Salvador was an excellent guide, informing us of the area's wildlife, history and current events. He kindly provided refreshments for us, including some cactus fruit which was fun to try! After Sian Ka'an we visited the gorgeous Dos Palmas cenote where we got to enjoy some snorkelling and afterwards he took us to a great vegan spot for lunch. Throughout the day Salvador captured some excellent photos and footage of us. I would highly recommend Best Maya Tours if you're looking for private excursions during your trip.

A Remarkable Yucatan Adventure: Best Maya Tour's Unforgettable Discovery Tour
We recently took Best Maya Tour's Private Yucatan Discovery Tour and it surpassed our expectations. The guide was excellent, striking the perfect balance between being informative and giving us personal space. The hotels were of good quality and conveniently located. We felt safe throughout the trip. Valladolid was our favorite city, while Merida impressed us with its size and history. Ek' Balam, a less crowded site, allowed us to climb the buildings. The cenotes were a magical and refreshing experience. Highly recommend Best Maya Tours for an unforgettable Yucatan adventure.

Super organized, great lunch, will book again
Salvador took us for a fantastic tour, he got us to the locations fast and gave great background, always gave interesting and relevant information when we had questions. He also took some great photos for us! We went to a great spot for lunch. He is very organized and knows how to plan the day to minimize crowds. When my wife and I return to the playa we are definitely going to book with Salvador again.

          Best experience!
Tulum Private Boat Tour & Turtle Snorkelling Experience - We booked this to celebrate my birthday, we had been looking for something that wasn't a big tour group and more intimate and found the perfect experience. Salvador picked us up from our hotel at 8am and we went to the Tulum ruins, he was great on the journey there telling us lots about Mexico and Playa del Carmen itself and being able to answer various questions we threw at him. On arrival in Tulum we went to see the Mayan ruins and again Salvador was a great guide, explaining different parts of the ruins and taking complimentary photos throughout the tour, again he was great with any questions we had in regards to the tour and the ruins. Once we left the tour we headed down to the beach to go snorkelling, on our way to the snorkelling the boat headed along the cost to show us some ruins that were only visible from the sea. We then headed to the barrier reef, I'm normally not a fan of open water but this was perfect, the water was so clear and not too deep either, it also felt very safe with both Salvador and the guys from boat. We got to see so many stingrays which were a bonus as we were not expecting that and got close to all kinds of fish and especially the turtles. Salvador took some images and videos on his go pro which he has kindly shared with us. We finally went for some tacos at El Capitan and I can easily say these were the best tacos we've had and so filling. All in all this was the best Birthday I could have hoped for and I highly recommend booking with Best Maya Tours, we will be booking with them again when we're back in Mexico!

One of the best tours I ever experienced
We did the tour with "Captain Snake." I don't remember his real name or how to pronounce it. We went to Chichen Itza first thing in the morning before it got really busy, Ek Balam afterwards, followed by the town of Valladolid. We opted out for lunch as we weren't hungry but found Captain Snake to be very knowledgeable and had an amazing day with him!

          Private full day guided tour
I am glad we splurged for the private tour so we could have flexibility in our day. This tour has many positives and I will share a few things we would have appreciated knowing in order to be more comfortable and better prepared. First the positive: The driver and guide was super friendly and informative. We could tell that he has a passion for Mayan culture and the area. We were grateful for his tips, sense of humor, and insight. Salvador offered to take pictures of us at the ruins and is a great photographer! The van was ample, comfortable, and had air conditioning. Although I have not really suffered from this in the past, I was feeling claustrophobic when getting down into the cenote, so we chose not to stay and swim. This made us grateful for the private tour. The guide went in for 10 minutes or so to cool off and we waited outside before heading to the delicious lunch. Both Coba and Tulum were amazing. We cannot recommend Coba enough! We love and recommend that you rent bikes or a tricycle there! We recommend the private tour as it allows you the flexibility to explore and/or shop at your party's leisure. Things to be aware of: We received no communication prior to the tour from Best Maya Tours but I was able to reach out to the company via Watsapp to confirm the date and was told I would receive a detailed email with the pick up time. I reached out the day prior to the tour since I had no pickup time and was told 7:30 am but that I would get a detailed email - this was never sent/received. As a party of 2 women, we would have appreciated knowing the name of the guide and description of vehicle that was picking us up from the resort. The guide got to the resort 20 minutes after the confirmed time given through Whatsapp due to going to the incorrect resort, so it appears the company has some opportunity for growth with communication all around. There were a few issues that are probably cultural differences, like I would have appreciated a call or text to advise us that the guide was running late. The guide was also talking on the phone while driving, which may be legal and common in Mexico. On the way back to the resort from Tulum, the guide stopped to pick up his wife from running errands. This was a little odd to us since we paid a lot for this tour and are a bit hyperaware of safety, but we also understand that it might be completely acceptable in Mexico. Tips and things we wish we would have known: The guide will bring water but it is room temperature. It gets quite hot so bring extra cash to purchase cold waters at your stops. We wish we would have brought an umbrella for the afternoon tour in Tulum since the sun is quite warm (understatement) and the company will not bring one to provide shade. Tulum has a $2 each way tram that you can take from the parking lot to the ruins. You can also walk this, which is a 10-15 minute walk. The tram is a great option if you are hot or getting tired but you will want to let the guide know if this is an option you are interested in, since it was not offered until we asked about the bus passing us as we walked.

This was a great day trip!
Very relaxing to float in the lazy River, and also experience the mangroves, jungle and see some ruins underway.
Salvador is a very experienced and knowledgeable guide that enhances the experience.
        Loved it!!

We did a 3 day trip with Best Maya tours prior; the Yucatan highlights that I recommend as well.

The natural Lazy River was absolutely a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing experience. The water was crystal clear and the perfect temperature.

Our guide picked us up on time, was courteous, and shared great eco and historical information with us. He took us to a great little local place for lunch that was a great experience.

I would recommend this excursion to anyone who love nature and wants to learn a little more of the history of these lands.

The ruins, though few, were most impressive. We also were able to see many unique birds. Floating down the Mayan canal was both beautiful and tranquil. Salvador, our guide, was most knowledgeable and accommodating. Unlike Tulum and Chichen Itza there were no crowds. It was relaxed and very forested.

What a fun excursion. First a bit of sailing across the lake and through the mangrove, with a fun and fast boat, and then floating downstream for almost 30 minutes. Or floating.

Water temperature is close to 30 degrees so feels great.

Nice skipper who also tells something about the ancient Maya and what they did there.

        Top day, what a winner!

Super quiet, at a no people seen

We booked this tour for mine and my sister's bachelorette trip to Mexico. Salvador picked us up at our resort and was very patient when a few of our members were running late. He then took up to the beautiful lazy river on Sian Kaan where we floated down the river without any rushing. Salvador was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain things to us in detail. We then had a nice lunch of delicious aregenitinian empanadas (vegetarian and beef) and dulce de leche muffins. Then we went on a beautiful nature walk and saw ruins and an observatory tower. During the whole tour, Salvador took photos on his camera. After the tour, he sent us all the photos which were beautiful! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

Wonderful day with William! A true guide and friend, with extensive knowledge of everything from Mayan history, to plants and animals, to the jungle paths! He picked us up on time, explained the day plan, and guides us seamlessly from the river float, to the ruins, through the jungle, and to the best lunch in Tulum. He even offered to take us to a different lunch place because I knows I love ceviche! :) but we couldn’t pass up the tacos and tostadas. The river float was GLORIOUS, the ruins were so impressive and interesting, and the jungle was unlike anything I’ve seen…. with monkeys!! This was a highlight of our trip and an amazing day. It was just two of us and being able to book a private tour was great. The van was comfortable and the sites were beautiful. He offered so much information and was so fun to hang out with all day. We were out around 8 am and came home by 2. The communication was easy and helpful, and it was all around a day to remember. Thank you to William for being the BEST guide and partner on our memorable day. We will be back!

This was so much more than floating the lazy river. We started at the archeological ruins of Muyil which are astounding. Although there are larger ruins to see like Chechen Itza, Muyil is quiet, uncrowded, and with your own personal guide (The Mayan Warrior), we learned a great deal about the history of the culture and region. After walking the ruins, we then drove to another location and walked the jungle to our loading dock for the boat trip across the Biosphere waters. This was a fabulous ride through ancient mangrove canals which were man made for commerce and trading. The fact that they still exist and you traverse them in modern times is both humbling. Although the river float is only about 1.5 miles, it feels peaceful and spiritual. The trip culminates with authentic Mexican/Maya food in Playa del Carmen before you get dropped off back at your lodging. The Warrior took pictures throughout the tour and then later sent a photo file. Well worth the money.

🙏🙏It sounds like you had an incredible experience! The combination of exploring the Muyil archaeological ruins with The Mayan Warrior, cruising through ancient mangrove canals in the Biosphere, and enjoying authentic Mexican/Maya food in Playa del Carmen sounds absolutely fantastic. It's great to hear that the tour felt peaceful, spiritual, and informative, with personal touches like photo documentation provided afterward. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience, and we hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future!🙏🙏

We had four adults in our group and booked a tour through Living Dreams. We requested Claudia as our guide and Mario as our driver because we had them for a different excursion and they were awesome! This was a super relaxing tour. The water was beautiful and warm and pushed you along at a nice pace. The mangroves are so peaceful, and much of our float was silent as we just listened to the birds and enjoyed the beauty of our surroundings. We also had them take us to a cave cenote as part of this trip which was equally incredible. We had the entire cave to ourselves (other than the bats) which is rare in this area. The people at living dreams really go above and beyond to make your trip as special as possible.

Had a great time during our private tour to see Matan ruins and float down the river. Salvador is a very knowledgeable and fun guide to talk to. Was on time picking us up despite the crazy traffic.
After booking the tour we also decided to see if Salvador can pick us up and drop at the airport which also went smoothly.
        Highly recommend

This was the third time taking this lazy river tour. If someone does a tour again you know it must be good. Each time was fantastic and this third was amazing. It was a private tour with my wife and I and two exceptional guides. Salvador and Dani. They were on time with pickup at our hotel. The information along the way was just right. They took care of a wonderful snack that was just right too. We had a great day and looking forward to doing this with our family in June. Thanks a bunch!!!!
