Overview
Explore the Barossa Valley wine region in style with a private full-day tour that travels in a luxurious 1962 Daimler classic car. Customize your tour to visit your selection of established or boutique wineries, and enjoy premium wine tastings at each stop, along with a gourmet 2-course lunch and afternoon tea. Your guide provides VIP service, informative commentary, and round-trip transportation from Barossa or Adelaide.
What to Expect

Enjoy a tailored, private wine tour of the Barossa Valley in a classic and rare 1962 Daimler which can seat up to eight passengers when required.

All tours are conducted by respected Barossa local, John Baldwin, a very personable fellow with extensive wine knowledge and a great sense of humor.  He knows The Barossa intimately and loves to share his close relationships with the local wine-making fraternity, with all who tour with him.

Barossa Valley wine tours are designed to suit individual wine tastes with cellar door tastings tailored to include famous and iconic wineries such as Penfolds, Seppeltsfield and Yalumba, or the smaller family owned boutique gems that only a local would know of. Barossa icons such as Henschke, Torbreck and Charles Meltons can also be included, whatever makes for the best day.

A Barossa full day Daimler tour includes a sumptuous 2-course lunch at Vintners Restaurant, afternoon tea at Maggie Beers Farm Shop, plus all entrance fees and tailored wine tastings. Guests also enjoy detailed and passionate commentary on the history, culture, architecture, terroir and the art of wine making in this world famous region.

Meet the winemakers and local characters, indulge in cheese and local produce tastings, and be treated as a VIP at all wineries. Tours are exclusive to one party ensuring flexibility is at a premium.

With only 6 of these rare 1962 Daimlers brought to Australia for the royal tours of the sixties, this is a rare opportunity to tour in such a classic and historic vehicle.

Departing from the Barossa, the tour starts with collection at your accommodation at 10am, and you’ll be dropped back at 5pm. The Barossa Valley is approximately a one hour drive to the north of Adelaide.

No two tours are the same as everyone has differing wine likes and preferences. Special experiences can be added including one offering which is not available anywhere else in the world. The ‘Centenary Tour’ at Sepeltsfield Winery allows guests to tour the historic site, and taste the 100 year old Tawny and also the rare experience of drawing from the barrel of the guests birth year. This can be negotiated on the day of the tour and costs an extra $AU150-pp (payable direct).

Life memories are made when touring The Barossa in a classic 1962 Daimler, with John Baldwin.

You can find a better tour than this

John is clearly knowledgeable about wine, but his behavior was quite unprofessional. He asked us a lot of personal questions, far more than just the usual "getting to know you" questions, and didn't have a sense of allowing us to enjoy our private tour. The...More
