What to expect
Meet your guide and small group of no more than 15 people on arrival at the Port of Tauranga. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned minibus, set out on the journey to the west coast. Along the way, soak up the scenery as you wind through the Kaimai Ranges and the farmlands of the Waikato District, stopping to admire views over Karapiro Lake and the Hinuera Valley. Arrive at Waitomo Caves and head inside to explore the natural wonder on a guided walking tour. See the aptly nicknamed ‘Cathedral’ cave, known for its distinctive acoustics, and hear how the famous Vienna Boys' Choir once recorded in the cave. Then, hop aboard for a small boat cruise through the Glow Worm Cave, lit up by the light of thousands of glowworms. Next, pay a visit to the Otorohanga Kiwi House, where you have the chance to learn more about the native flightless birds and hear how the Kiwi became the national symbol of New Zealand. After stopping for lunch (own expense), return to Tauranga, where your tour ends with drop-off at the port.

Excellent tour!
Mar 2020
We had a wonderful day exploring the Waitomo glow worm caves, kiwi sanctuary and the countryside of the Tauranga area.
Our guide Bron was great. She is very informative and makes sure you get to see everything you want....including Hokey Pokey ice cream!
Our tour was almost 7 hours long but the time flew as we enjoyed every minute of it.
We would highly recommend this tour and company!

Fantastic Tour
Oct 2019
Bron, our guide, met us right at the port and took us to the Waitomo Caves and on the way pointed out local sights. From there we went to The Kiwi House where we were lucky enough to spot 2 Kiwis. It was an excellent all day tour and we returned to the ship in a timely fashion.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. W'e're pleased you enjoyed your day. We always ensure you get back to your cruise-ship on time; otherwise, legally, we have to get you to the next port!

Jul 2019 • Couples
My Partner and I had two fantastic Days with Paul on the Tours.
We went to Waitomo and Rotorua.
Paul is a font of local knowledge and gave a fantastic commentary during the tours.
I cannot recommend these guys highly enough!

Paul thoroughly enjoyed being with you. Apologies that the "font of knowledge" couldn't answer your question about native land mammals; we appreciate your getting back with the answer! Thanks for booking with us!

Very informative, more facts than a typical tour
Dec 2018 • Couples
Bron provided more information about the area than many guides would have. She has lived in the area her whole life and could tell us about the dairy industry and the kiwi industry. Everything went on schedule. The headset microphone made it possible for everyone in the van to hear. Her expertise added so much more than just a van driver that took us to the two sights. She made sure we saw a kiwi and met our schedule at the caves. She even stopped at a Kiwi farm and explained about the kiwi industry. Great tour
