Hobbiton day trip - brilliant adventure!
What a brilliant day. Jan was a first class tour guide and provided useful commentary on the trip to Hobbiton. We had time to go to gift shop and then we were off on the Hobbiton tour - great fun for any LOTT fans, but even if you are not a fan of the films or books, still a great day and the set is done so well. The addition of now being able to see inside a hobbit house was a brilliant treat. In way back we stopped at waterfalls, walked through rainforest and then had a treat of ice cream. Altogether a brilliant trip, well organised and executed and I would highly recommend

      Great guide and area information.
Tauranga is a beautiful, productive area. Jan, our guide, was quite good, knowing so much about all aspects of the towns and rural areas we traveled through. The bus was comfortable and the ac worked well. As it was a hot, sunny day that was greatly appreciated by all. The tour included the resort homes of the wealthy, homes for we regular people, farming, mountain areas. We went to the site of the Battle of Gate Pa. Wish we’d had more time, but Google will fill in the gaps. Also to a wildlife park. The Maori culture is greatly respected in all of New Zealand as evidenced in each city we visited, including here. Treats were given several times as we traveled. That’s always good. In all, the tour was well worth it.

      Good day out
We booked this tour last minute as we had another tour booked with lunch but a family member cxld and we decided we didn’t want the lunch included. Happily surprised we there were only 11 of us on the tour (advertising said it could be up to 42). Our group all arrived early and we set off before the set departure time. Our driver was an older gentleman and was sometimes hard to understand- he had a mic set but this wasn’t working so either we missed information or had to listen hard and repeat for the ppl at the back of the minivan who could hear at all. He was also very stressed about time the entire trip. You could feel his tension which made it a little less relaxing being taken on a tour. We did make everything on time. The Māori village was brilliant. The tour guide there was fantastic and very informative we saw the volcano blow and attended a terrific performance which was so interesting. On request from one of the passengers we drove through the government gardens. This was not going to be done but was on the itinerary as a stop for the day. We stopped at a park which had geothermal water. We all put our feet in the water (driver had only been here once before so wasn’t 100% sure where to go) We then stopped at stunning waterfalls for a short time and outside of a kiwi farm to show us the plantation. We finished back at the port being given a packet of dried kiwi fruit to try. Lovely day out seeing Māori village and countryside

      Amazing tour and guide
Amazing tour and amazing guide Steve. He was very knowledgeable and looked after all of us, even getting us an authentic hokey pokey icecream on the way back. I have a disability and he went out of his way to make sure I was ok, and liaise with the hobbiton guide to make sure they looked out for me as well. On a very hot day the icy aircon in the bus was wonderful and he took care to make sure everyone was included. Highly recommend!

You’ve gotta do this. Well worth it. Value for $
What a fantastic day. Highly recommend this day excursion to you all. The driver/tour guide was a very informative, friendly and entertaining bloke. The complimentary coffee and muffins (huge) were delicious 🤤. The views and locations were gob smacking 😮. We took some ripper pics. Absolutely loved the honey and kiwi 🥝 tasting. Oh and don’t forget to enjoy the Hokey Pokey ice cream too.

Tauranga small group tour, had a great time!
I picked this tour for our cruise visit. We were met as advised near the port entrance. Our driver, Adrienne took our small group on this lovely tour, she gave us an informative commentary about Tauranga and surrounds. The waterfall visit was a beautiful walk through lush forest with beautiful tress and ferns along the way. There are 16 steps at the falls if you want to make it a round trip but if you can't just turn around and go the back the way you came, it's much the same. My friend with a walker was able to negotiate the steps with a little assistance. After coffee and a huge muffin (included) it was so nice to taste the kiwifruits and local honeys as well. I recommend this tour, it was great fun and good value!

      Varied fun filled tour
Friendly & informative guide Rolf picked us up on time from the cruise port, & assured us we would return promptly for sailing. Interesting commentary on the drive to Rotorua. Great experience at the Maori Living Village, & saw the highlights of the town. Included stops at the Redwoods, a waterfall & kiwi farm. Very enjoyable day out.

Tour Plus Hobbiton, Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!
When we were planning our cruise excursions, we had hoped to go to Hobbiton. We contacted Zealandier and found out that cruise ship tours would no longer be allowed there. We were disappointed but continued to research options. Fast forward a month and I received an email from Zealandier. Great news! Hobbiton would give them an allotment of tickets after all if we were still interested. I was floored that the fine folks from Zealandier cared enough to follow up with us. That was the first positive impression. We were met at the port by Adrienne, a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We first toured a waterfall before moving on. Once at Hobbiton we went on the tour at the prescribed time with a guide for two hours. It was fabulous, so much fun not only walking the shire but also hearing the stories from the films. And we were fortunate enough to be there after they opened Bagshot where you can actually go inside one of the imaginatively decorated homes. After we were returned back to the starting point our touring with Adrienne continued and we saw the lovely beach areas before we got back to the ship. If you want to see Hobbiton and are cruising I would highly recommend Zealandier. Reach out early, not that many spots are available. And it's not just for die-hard Lord of the Rings / Hobbit fans - it's for everyone. So well done.

Small excursion bus with driver guide Steven. 1.5 hour ride to Rotorua with brief stop at the Redwood Forest to use restrooms and look at big trees. We also stopped at a Kiwi farm for a brief look at how the Kiwi vines grow. Steven did a great commentary along the whole route. When we arrived at Rotorua, we were dropped at a big shopping mall food court so everyone could choose their own lunch and get done quickly in 40 minutes. After lunch we went to the living village for a demonstration of how a small number of Maori families live in the traditional ways among the thermal features, using them for cooking and heating. This tour ended with a traditional dance show that was very entertaining. On the bus ride back to Tauranga, we stopped at a waterfall that now flows on the remains of a decomissioned power plant. We saw as much as you could see in the time allotted.

Went on this tour and was disappointed. We made a short stop on the street with with kiwi trees, but did not get out of the bus.
We then went to a redwood forest, and the guy sat at a picnic table, cutting up, seaweed and serving samples along with kiwi juice. This lasted for 45 minutes. Then when we got back on the bus, the driver yelled at people about getting back in a timely manner, but the guy never gave the group a time to get back on the bus so several people lingered in the gift shop.
We were then dumped at a mall and told we had a half an hour to get lunch because we have been so delayed. A mall is about the last place. I wanted to go in and find my lunch. It was absolutely packed and it was a zoo. The only part of the excursion that we really thought was worthwhile was the trip to the Maori village. The geothermal pools and geysers were amazing. We walk through the village with a wonderful Maori guide, and then they did a show for us, which was really interesting. We could've skipped everything else on this tour.

This was such a wonderful experience. Jan c. Was our tour guide. She was knowledgeable, funny and entertaining all day. She made all of us in a group of 19 feel well liked and valued. She went everywhere with us even into the whaka village and would ensure we would get the best photo spots and viewing locations. Sharing funny antidotes along the way.
I would highly recommend this company and tour. Thanks again for a memorable experience.

Excellent driver/guide. Nearly non-stop information along with great tour stops.

Especially loved the Maiori village stop with sweet corn 🌽 geysers and dancers, but i wouldn't have missed any of this! Dream come true!

Was on cruise and their tours were too pricey and not as inclusive. So glad I chose this. There were several buses from this tour company when two cruise ships were in port and they were so well organized. Very considerate about making sure we were back on plenty of time to depart.

Thanks Rolf for a great day! 🤗

We lucked out getting Steven as our guide for this tour. He was calm , pleasant , and even had surprises for us. We stopped at a kiwi orchard, and after explaining the basics of kiwi crops, he gave us packets of dried kiwi. Along the way we also sampled fresh kiwi and manuka honey. Steven shared history and all kinds of information as well as answered our questions. A stop at a geothermal village for lunch, a tour, and a performance added to this memorable tour. What a great day!

Our tour guide/driver,Jan, was very knowledgeable! At the waterfall stop she prepared some Kiwi fruit and local honey for us to taste. She added lots of extra information to our day. The tour of the Living Māori village was outstanding. Very informative. It poured rain while we were there so our walk through the village and geothermal pools was shorter and picture taking was hampered by the weather. A great day. Outstanding organization and company. Highly recommend booking with them.

Excellent tour overall (6.5 hrs). Our enthusiastic guide, Adrienne, related well to all of us and obviously enjoys her job. The tour covers the Roturua experience, boiling mud pools and erupting geysers, including an impressive traditional Maori welcome and dances. Only slight criticism is that the Te Puia guide rushed us through. Highly recommended, especially cruisers visiting Tauranga.
