an amazing photography tour. This is our very first time to visit glowworm cave. We were all so excited to see this so called "the seventh miracle in the world" . The guide Kyle is very experienced in taking photos of the Glowworm and helped me a lot in suggesting the setting of the camera, the composition and fill-in light. the blue reflection in the water together with the limestone is so beautiful. When it's getting dark, the splendid view at the entrance of the cave is so breathtaking.

The Footwhistle private cave tour was amazing. The guide was super friendly, super informative and also super knowledgeable. The glow worms in the cave were a mind blowing experience and even better it was just me and my wife, no crowds. I can't praise them enough and the tour was worth the price. Truly the experience of a lifetime!

My wife and I joined Kyle on his Footwhistle Cave Sunset Glow Work tour and it was terrific. With just one other couple along for the ride, it was a very nice, low key adventure that felt personalized, not at all the commercialized cattle car, even though the agenda was pretty well prescribed. It was really cool to feel like we had the cave to ourselves, and we got to see lots of the little creatures and some other fun things. The grand finale was pretty spectacular - but you'll have to take the tour to find out. Highly recommended.

a fantastic tour. The cave is beautiful. discreet lighting and carefully developed path allow a relaxing walk. one admires a lot of glowworms and has time to photograph them. the guide is very competent, tells a lot of interesting things. a special tea after the tour completes the experience. unreservedly recommended! thank you coveworld, thank you Ross!

This was a great experience, very personal (only 4 people on our tour) and made all the more pleasurable because of the knowledge and personality of our guide Kyle. He and his family have run the business for past 20 years specialising in small group visits (max 12 people). Standing in dark cave looking at glowworms was special. Thus trip involves walking down & up 100 steps and you need to wear a warm top. I loved being able to take as many photos as I wanted. The tea ceremony & chat afterwards gave you a chance to reflect. Great trip!

Small scale visit with a very knowledgeable guide. Felt almost like we discovered the caves with him. Very quiet and beautiful. Nice tea in a wooden hut at the end.

We did the glowworm footwhistle cave tour with Ross and it was amazing! Definitely can recommend this family owned agency if you want to avoid the crowds and have more of a private experience in an amazing cave!

This was one of the best tours we have had during our 3 week trip in NZ/Australia. The guide, Ross, was so kind and funny. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The glowworms were magical and we learned so much. We enjoyed the nice cup of Kawa tea they gave us at the end too. 100% recommend!

So good! We were debating whether to do this one or one of the other mainstream cave tours. We were very happy with this one and don’t regret it at all. We don’t feel like we missed out on anything. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and seemed to really have a passion for the caves. He also was patient and good with the kids on our small 11-person tour. It was amazing to see the hard work the family has put into getting the cave accessible. There were stairs but it was all very safe. We were also able to take photos inside the cave and the guide was again, patient with us trying to take Insta-worthy pics :) We really felt like we learnt so much that we were even able to tell a few people information about the glow worms when we did the Ruakuri Bushwalk later that night. I can highly recommend the Footwhistle Glowworm Cave Tour. Our guide Ross ( the Boss ) picked us up at the I Site in Waitomo. He's such a funny guy and was always joking around. We had a lot of laughs with him. In the cave he explained everything to us about glowworms, stalagnites etc. He gave us enough time to take photos and spoiled us with delicious Kawakawa tea after the tour. Thank you Ross for the lovely tour.

The Footwhistle Cave is owned by a local family and is an excellent tour as well as being exceptional value for money. We were met at Waitomo Village by Ross (the Boss) and taken by van to the cave on private property. This is a very safe and educational tour with thousands of glow worms and a very good spoken history from Ross. The tour is followed by a refreshing cup of freshly brewed Kawakawa tea. We took three children with us and they thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I recommend it.

We had a good tour guide. I went on the walking one. We went on a ramp to get to the bottom of the caves. It wasnt too cold down there. The sights of the glow worms were brilliant. Saw chrystals in the cave walls and carvings. This is a must which the top 10 holiday centre will book pleased to book for you.
