Overview
A guided tour handles transportation logistics and gear on this tour to Breidamerkurjokull Glacier in Vatnajokull National Park. When you arrive, choose to explore an ice cave along with your guide or go off on your own—the perfect balance for those unsure of whether or not they want to visit with a group. Regardless of your preferences, your guide provides information about the glacier and safety information throughout.
What to Expect
This Vatnajokull National Park off-road and hiking tour starts when you meet your guide the Jokulsarlon Lagoon cafeteria. Then, board a Jeep and admire the views as your drive expertly navigates the rugged off-road terrain to the Breidamerkurjokull Glacier.

When you get to the glacier, you’ll be provided with a helmet and crampons and then follow your guide into the ice cave. Choose to continue following your guide or explore on your own. Either way, your guide will be there to take your photo and answer any questions.

After 40 minutes of exploring the cave, return to where your tour began.

Great ice cave experience with the best guide Tryggvi!

Did the ice cave tour on 21.10. Even though ice cave tours start usually in November the ice explorers already had it open! We had the best ice cave experience with the most amazing guide. Make sure you go on the tour with Tryggvi ;)

Unfortunately, we weren't able to visit the Crystal Cave as it had started melting but Ice Explorers instead substituted our excursion for a glacier walk & HOLY COW WAS IT AMAZING! We rode onto the glacier itself on a super jeep, stopping at various interest...More
