San Antonio Grand Sightseeing Tour
From US$81.19
Overview
Packing in all of San Antonio’s historic sights in one day can be difficult on your own. Explore San Antonio’s rich history and diverse culture on this full-day sightseeing tour. You’ll visit San Antonio’s most famous landmarks including the Alamo, Market Square, Mission San Jose, and more while learning about about San Antonio’s history from your local guide.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pick-up from your San Antonio hotel by air-conditioned bus. From here you’ll head to the Alamo - the 18th century Spanish mission where David Crockett, William Barrett Travis, and others stood up to the Mexican General Santa Anna during the war for Texas independence in 1836.

Next stop is the the Spanish Governor's Palace in downtown San Antonio, which was built in the 18th century to serve as the home for the Spanish governors. You’ll have plenty of time to photograph this early Spanish mansion before hopping into a riverboat for a scenic cruise down the Paseo Del Rio.

Next, enjoy the sights and tastes of old Mexico at the Historic Market Square. The Historic Market claims to be the largest Mexican market outside of Mexico and features crafts, goods, entertainment, and foods from south of the border.

You’ll also enjoy a drive through Brackenridge Park, the Japanese Sunken Gardens, and a visit to Mission Concepcion before being delivered back to your San Antonio Hotel.

Hotel pickup? Thirty minutes late. No call. When I finally called I was told (paraphrasing) that they were picking us up for free so don't be so demanding. We got to the drop-off point late (thanks to the late driver) so the tour started late....More

When the bus driver arrives 45 minutes late after four phone calls to the tour company; when the tour company informs you that the driver is busy picking up "lots of other passengers" and then he finally arrives with one guy in his bus, you...More

I don't know how much flexibility the tour guide has for the grand tour, as it is an eight hour (approx) tour. We were picked up about 8:30 in the morning and dropped off around 4:30 in the afternoon. Shorter tours allow... More

When we stayed in San Antonio, the tour bus came right to our door to pick us up for their tours. That was in January, 2018. Can't see them being any different now.

Not sure where the Best Western is located but we were picked up and returned to our campground and we were quite a ways away. If you get a choie, ask for Jim to be your tour guide. He's fantastic.
