Fun trip
Fun trip down the river. We enjoyed the historian prevention both in the boat and at the battlefield. We only had 30 minutes at the battlefield. We would have liked a bit more time to explore the visitor center at the battlefield, but other than that it was a great trip!

The Creole Queen did not disappoint!
Nov 2021 • Couples
We had a wonderful time and I highly recommend this tour. Charles, our tour guild was an amazing storyteller and moved me to tears when he spoke about Katrina. He brought the history of New Orleans to life. I never leave reviews but he was just so awesome. The staff and crew were also great and very helpful and nice.

Very informative and entertaining
Oct 2021
The best part of this cruise was the historical monologue provided during the trip to the Chalmette Battlefield, which was culminated on site. The National Park Rangers were a "no-show" for some reason, but our historian was very knowledgeable and entertaining, so we did not mind that he took on the task of explaining the battlefield scenario to us. I would have liked more time to tour the grounds (the story took up almost the whole time we were on site), but the story was worth the trip in itself! The lunch buffet on the return trip was also quite tasty. This last-minute tour was very much enjoyed!

Relaxing (But Crowded) Tour, Good Food
Oct 2021
I enjoyed this relaxing tour. I paid for the lunch and the food was very good, although finding seating to eat on deck was really difficult and I had to stay inside more than I would have liked. It was really more crowded than it should have been. Lines for drinks were long the whole time. I wasn't initially interested in the battlefield stuff but I stayed around for the guide and he made it all very interesting and engaging. The crew as wonderful and dealt with the crowded boat well. More covered seating with tables is all I would ask for.

Loved the Cruise and Staff was Excellent
Oct 2021
We had an event planned for 50 people at another location that had to cancelled on us 2 weeks prior to our scheduled event. Emily, the director of sales, was so fantastic. She was able to use the contract and menu from our original location and replicate it at the same prices. The food was delicious, the room was perfect, the service was excellent. Our guests loved the cruise and the stop at the battle ground. I would definitely plan another event with this boat and company!

Disappointing
Oct 2021
We have enjoyed cruises in a number of cities around the world, usually with delicious food and beautiful scenery. Not this one. It was 1/2 hour passing of industrial sites along the Mississippi River each way, with a 1 hour stop at the Chalmette Battlefield. The food was yukky glop, and no information was given about it being ready or where the buffet was served. The history provided was interesting.

If you want a riverboat cruise on the MIssissippi River, you'll like the Riverboat Twilight out of Le Claire, Iowa much better.

Good tour
Mac was amazing and very knowledgeable on telling the history of the places we passed and the battle of new Orleans. There was however not enough outside setting.

Learnin' on the river
Oct 2021
This review is NOT about the Jazz cruise. If you have about 2 hours, I highly recommend taking the cruise to the Chalmette Battlefield and back.

We were fortunate enough to have Charles as our guide and narrator who REALLY knows his stuff about the river, the 1812 Battle of New Orleans, and the impact Katrina had on the city.

Pro tip: Don't be lazy and skip the battlefield talk to sit on the boat to save your seat. Charles really brings life, setting the scene, tone, and the challenges the soldiers on both sides faced. It's almost like you're there.
