Stop At: Oak Alley Plantation, 3645 Highway 18, Vacherie, LA 70090-7079

On the grounds of Oak Alley, enjoy a sumptuous Plantation Country Brunch featuring Crawfish Etouffee, Chicken & Smoked Sausage Gumbo, Oeuf du Jour (egg dish of the day), Cajun Smoked Sausage Links, fresh fruit and yogurt, and other offerings.

Before brunch, tour the Big House and walk the grounds for a few minutes in one of the South’s most beautiful settings. Perhaps the most photographed plantation ever, Oak Alley has been the setting for such motion pictures as Interview with a Vampire, Primary Colors, and the wedding of Bo and Hope from the daytime soap opera, Days of our Lives

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Laura Plantation: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site, 2247 Highway 18, Vacherie, LA 70090-5409

A few minutes down River Road, enter the world of Creole Louisiana and experience what has been called “the best history tour in the U.S.” as you visit Laura Plantation.

This tour is based upon 5,000 pages of documents found in the French National Archives and upon Laura’s "Memories of the Old Plantation Home," in which she details 250 years of true-life stories of the Creole women, slaves and children who lived and worked here.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Cajun Pride Swamp Tours, 110 Frenier Rd, Laplace, LA 70068, USA

This privately owned wildlife refuge ensures that you won’t encounter any other boats during your peaceful journey into the swamp. Local Cajun captains share personal tales of their own swamp explorations and fascinating information on the plants and wildlife you'll encounter. The primitive beauty of moss draped cypress tress and abundant wildlife guarantees some amazing pictures!

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Pass By: Lake Pontchartrain, New Orleans, LA

Although called a lake, this is actually a large lagoon and brackish estuary fed by fresh water rivers and connected to the Gulf of Mexico. Covering 630 square miles (1600 km2) it is one of the largest wetlands in North America.

Pass By: St. Joseph Plantation, 3535 Highway 18, Vacherie, LA 70090-7073

Historic plantation, circa 1830, that remains a family owned working sugar plantation today along with sister property Felicity Plantation, circa 1846.

Pass By: I-10 Bonnet Carré Spillway Bridge, St Rose, LA 70087, USA

View the spillway, a flood control operation in the Lower Mississippi west of New Orleans. The spillway, when open, allows floodwaters from the Mississippi River to flow into Lake Pontchartrain and thence into the Gulf of Mexico.

We saved the brunch/plantation/swamp tour combo for our last day of the trip, and it was absolutely worth it. Our tour guide, Susan, was personable, funny, and informative. She was easy to talk to and answered every question that was thrown at her. She also did a wonderful job

We had a fantastic day visiting Oak Alley and Laura plantations followed by a swamp tour. Oak Alley is just how we'd imagined a deep south plantation would be like but the whole place also just had an inner peace. The brunch on site was excellent quality - so often on these

I booked this experience well before travel to New Orleans and after much research. I got up early, and caught an Uber to the Lighthouse arriving a little after 7:30 to check in. While the experience was still listed on the Bus Bay Board, I went to the ticket window to be told

Although we appreciate the input, I can only look into the situation if you send me your tour date, selection and name to GuestExperiences@glnosc.com. If you booked on line though TripAdvisor or similar we may not have had your contact information directly. But i would be glad to look into it and see how we can assist. I will add that we have one tour that shares a bus, where we drop at the first plantation, take other guests to the second which is on the same road. It enables guests to have sufficient time at their chosen destination.
