  • Learn the history behind famous French Quarter landmarks

  • Go beyond tourist areas to see the levees breached by Hurricane Katrina
What to Expect
The day begins with convenient pickup at your downtown New Orleans hotel in an air-conditioned minibus to keep you comfortable in the thick southern heat. Head first to the French Quarter, the historic heart of the city, for a tour of landmarks such as Jackson Square, the Cabildo, and French Market. Drive down tree-lined boulevards past the stately Creole mansions of the Garden District before turning toward the shores of Lake Pontchartrain and the 17th Street Canal, the spot where devastating floodwaters spilled into the city after Hurricane Katrina. Cruise through the leafy expanse of City Park, and end the tour with a look at some of New Orleans’ “Cities of the Dead”—graveyards filled with elaborate above-ground tombs. Your tour ends at the original pickup location.
