Wonderful Tour!!
Malika was a wonderful tour guide. She is very knowledgeable about the subject and told interesting stories about the areas we were in. I would highly recommend French Quarter Phantom Tours and Malika as a guide.

Fascinating and informative!
Our tour guide, Angela, was passionate and animated about her subject matter. She treated us to and insightful two-hour tour that went by in the blink of an eye! Highly recommended to anyone who wants to know more than just the history of the French Quarter. Our visit to Mr. Al was great, too. Highly recommended.

Treme is a must in NOLA
Jan 2020
Our tour guide, Evian was fantastic! We scheduled the tour of Treme for our last day in New Orleans, and I'm so glad we saved the best for last. What I love about all the tour guides from French Quarter Phantoms is that they explain their background and education from the beginning, so we understand they're the tour guide and they know their material. Evian's background was in Ancient History, where he was quite honest of his studies of slavery throughout history, which I thought was important to address and explain that this was his expertise and we were all getting a brief education on some of our country's darkest times. The facts and histories Evian provided to our group will certainly stay with me for the rest of my life, and I'm so glad we were able book this tour.

Treme is a beautiful neighborhood, and we walked briefly through Louis Armstrong Park, took a break midway through the tour at a local coffee shop, and ended at a great little jazz museum which was very enlightening with lots of memorabilia from the early jazz era with Mr. Al! I'd certainly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a deeper history beyond the Quarter.

Deep dive into a complex history and neighborhood
Jan 2020
We booked this tour last-minute because of how impressed we had been with the guide, Miss Malika, on our "Saints & Sinners" tour the day before. We were even more impressed with this tour, which covered topics that were more serious and complex in an equally accessible and captivating way.

I had seen the show, Tremé, on HBO and have read a lot about how American music (Jazz, Rock n' Roll, etc) was born in New Orleans but I learned new things throughout this tour and came away with a new appreciation for the history and the people who created that music despite bondage, oppression, and displacement, a history that continues today.

Miss Malika, with a little help from Al Jackson at the Petit Jazz Museum, masterfully brought those 300+ years of history to life and tied stories of the earliest residents of the neighborhood to the current struggle to keep homes and music in the Tremé. A rich and needful lesson for anyone who wants to know the true history of New Orleans and one we are grateful for.

Absolutely engaging and enlightening tour!
Jan 2020
What a great tour with Miss Malika! Having very little knowledge about the Treme neighbourhood and thinking I knew something about the cultural dynamics of New Orleans we were pleasantly educated by our charming guide. Delivering a lot of information and honesty about the past, present and possible future of an important area in New Orleans. Great stop at the Petit Jazz Museum too.
Cannot recommend this enough, thank you Miss Malika master story teller.
