New Orleans Cocktail History Walking Tour in the French Quarter
US$70.00
Overview
Bypass the tourist traps of Bourbon Street on this tour of authentic New Orleans bars. Visit four local-approved French Quarter venues—cocktail included at each—while hearing quirky alcohol-related tales from New Orleans' history. From pharmaceutical cocktails to “absinthism,” learn how the Big Easy has always let the good times roll.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with a cocktail in the intimate courtyard of Evangeline restaurant and bar—the venue specializes in Southern classics such as the French 75 and Mint Julep.

Continue to a bar favorited by locals for a twist on the classic Sazerac, a recipe attributed to a 19th-century Creole apothecary. At the next stop, Bourbon ‘O’ Bar, choose from a selection of craft beer or pay homage to New Orleans’ last French mayor by ordering the signature Roffignac cocktail, an obscure yet beloved classic.

Your tour concludes at Tujague’s, one of the oldest authentic Creole restaurants in New Orleans and birthplace of the sweet and minty Grasshopper.

Throughout this cocktail history tour, learn about the obscure history of alcohol in New Orleans from your guide.

Six family members did the Cocktail History Tour with Lindsey on 9/28. Despite slogging through the rain from stop-to-stop, the tour was hella-fun. Five cocktails in four different bars, so we were definitely feeling fine at the end. Lindsey is an AWESOME guide. Not only...More

It is about as much walking as you would do bar hopping in the area for an evening. It is at a leisurely pace. If you are comfortable with the amount of walking a NOLA trip usually entails, you should be fine.
