Overview
New Orleans can be an intimidating place to tackle on your own, especially when you’re interested in the city’s deep voodoo roots. This tour makes it easy by guaranteeing a spot on a guided tour that not only dives deep into the Big Easy’s voodoo culture, but also quickly takes you to famous graves at St. Louis Cemetery No. 1.
What to Expect
Your tour meets at the corner of Royal and Conti Streets in New Orleans' French Quarter, where your guide first shows you some of the well-known architecture of the area, such as the Creole townhouses and shotgun homes.

As you go, your guide shares stories about the city’s rich voodoo history and famous practitioners of the religion such as Marie Laveau. Your guide takes you to St. Louis Cemetery No. 1, one of the city’s oldest cemeteries, which opened in 1789. At the cemetery, see the famous tomb of Laveau, as well as other former voodoo masters. It's often difficult to view the city's cemeteries without a guide, and this tour ensures you'll not only be able to enter quickly, but also find the most interesting tombs.

Before your tour ends, see more crypts and mausoleums in the cemetery, pop into a voodoo ritual shop, and stop by Congo Square.

Your tour ends in the French Quarter near Jackson Square, and your guide can provide directions back to the starting point or your hotel or recommendations for what to do next.

Wonderful insights into French Quarter history!

Trevor was our guide, and he was funny and full of amazing facts. The cemetery was interesting but was very hot. I do not recommend this tour if the temperature is over 80 degrees!

We had an amazing time on the voodoo tour. Our tour guide was Michael Bill and he was fantastic. There's a lot of walking on this tour and it was really hot, but we had a good time. We recommend this tour.

We didn't with the tour but I did on my own. It was near Preservation Hall. Small but very cool. There's also a voodoo museum located at 724 Dumaine St. It costs $5 to get in. It's very tiny but you will learn a lot! I also... More
