Highlights
  • Travel deep into the Louisiana swamps with a guide
  • Safely search for alligators under the guide’s supervision
  • Stay dry in rainy weather with a covered boat
  • Convenient round-trip transportation from the French Quarter included
  • Choose from multiple departure times to fit your schedule
What to Expect
Your tour starts with pickup in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Relax on the bus ride out to the bayous, leaving the navigation and driving to someone else. Once you reach the area, board a covered boat with your guide, and take to the swampy waters. Listen as your guide informs you about the area’s history and ecology, and get the opportunity to spot alligators and other wildlife native to the bayous.  Some wildlife are more easily spotted during the warmer months of the year. Learn about the local culture, such as the origin of gumbo, and how the area’s residents work hard to guarantee the survival of the wetlands. Snap pictures of the swamps to take home, and gain a better understanding of this beautiful, often-misunderstood area. Your tour ends with a drive back to the French Quarter.

I really enjoyed this tour. Our bus driver Alton was knowledgeable and fun which made the bus trip go quickly. We got really lucky for this time of year and was able to spot a number of alligators out sunning themselves or swimming next to the boat. The swamp really is quite

We did not see any alligators and we did not get to hold the baby alligator. Our bus driver was more informative than our actual Tour guide. The airboat looks way better and I would recommend that rather than this tour. But it is still pretty cool to see the bayou. But if you do

Thanks to Stefan for a very interesting and natural tour of the Louisiana swamps. He was very knowledgeable and shared his ideas well. We saw raccoons, an alligator (small) and the ‘feral’ pig. Late January worked out well for us — there was some sun, and though it was cool,

We did the Swamp Tour even though we knew the Alligators and much of the wildlife would be absent in January, and sure enough they were. We saw one baby Alligator, and even the tour guide was surprised, as he hadn't seen one all week. A few birds, and that was about it. The
