Overview
Ride on one of the last authentic paddlewheel ships in New Orleans with a Sunday brunch cruise aboard the Steamboat Natchez. Get a new perspective on the city skyline as you glide down the Mississippi, and check out vintage features like the working steam engine. Dig into a delicious buffet brunch featuring Louisiana favorites like cheese grits and beignets, while a jazz trio provides a lively soundtrack.
What to Expect
Board the historic Steamboat Natchez at a convenient dock near the French Quarter, and leave the bustling city streets behind as the ship paddles onto the Mighty Mississippi. Stroll the decks for fantastic views, and visit the museum-quality engine room for a closer look at the ship’s antique machinery. A live jazz trio keeps the mood upbeat.

Head to the dining cabin for a buffet brunch loaded with savory Southern classics such as sausage gumbo, biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits, and scrambled eggs. Indulge in banana foster, sugar-dusted beignets, or bread pudding for dessert, and order a Bloody Mary, mimosa or other drink from the cash bar. (See Itinerary for a full menu.) If you have other dining plans, a cruise-only option is also available.

Had a very good time

We had a good time. The commentary was good if a little hard to hear at times. I would skip the brunch if you go on the Sunday morning cruise as you are inside eating during the site-seeing/commentary portion of the trip. We went in...More

Jazz Brunch

We enjoyed the Jazz Brunch on the Steamboat Natchez. The brunch was good (not great, but good) - waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage, gumbo, shrimp, fruit, etc. The two hour boat ride up the river was relaxing and enjoyable. The 3 piece jazz band was fun...More

Dinner cruise

I would give this a 5 star because we really enjoyed the cruise. You have to understand it is a buffet so not the greatest but still good. We really enjoyed sitting outside (we had early seating for dinner, recommended ) during the cruise. Here...More

Enjoyed the boat

The boat was very good and I enjoyed the tour, but some members of staff where quite rude when serving lunch. I was expecting to see more during the day as some reviews from other sites said you could see some of the old confederate...More

Boring

We were disappointed. Although relaxing, unfortunately it was just boring. Not much to see and hard to hear the narrative. The jazz band can only be heard on the 1st deck. If your legs are tired and you are just passing time then do it....More

Although the narrative is distributed throughout the boat, we are disappointed that perhaps you were near a misfunctioning speaker or similar. The band plays during the day in the main salon, which is open to the public, and their music should have been broadcast live...More
